Muslim Brotherhood Plans to Cancel Peace Pact with Israel

Prophecy Sign:  Egypt will break the peace with Israel and will come against the Jewish state


Egypt is referenced in several end-times biblical prophecies. In the book of Psalms we are told in the 83rd chapter that Egyptwill be one of several allied Arab nations that will come against Israelin a last days war. We are also told in the book of Ezekiel in the 29th chapter that Egypt will become a devastated nation due to a series of climactic events, (which may include the destruction of the Aswan Dam).

It should come as no surprise to hear of the plans of the future Egyptian rulers, (the Islamic parties), suggesting they will find whatever means it takes to cancel the peace pact with Israel.

The Muslim Brotherhood comes up with a neat trick to break the peace treaty with Israel without formally doing so. Egypt’s next likely ruling party says it simply will hold a plebiscite and let the people do it. Rashad Bayoumi, deputy Supreme Leader of the Brotherhood, told the London-based newspaper Al-Hayat on Sunday it respects international treaties and will leave the issue of the peace treaty in the hands of the people. The pact was signed by then-Egyptian president Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, but a "cold peace" has set in over the past several years. “People will express their opinions on it. All parties can reconsider the treaty and Egyptians haven't yet had their say,” he explained. “We won't violate the treaty. We can put it for referendum among people or parliament,” Bayoumi said.

Voting is underway in Egypt's third and final stage of elections after the ouster of long-time dictator Hosni Mubarak. Some 14 million voters are casting ballots in 27 provinces over the next two days to elect 150 members of parliament. The Muslim Brotherhood is expected to win the majority of seats in the 498-member lower house. The Islamist party is already the country's most influential group. Its leaders are saying they will not recognize Israel "under any circumstance." "The Brotherhood respects international conventions, but we will take legal action against the peace treaty with the Zionist entity," the party's deputy leader said during a recent interview.
