His writings are published by several organizations, including the Institute of Physics and Technology, Moscow, and has worked with several foreign governments and the UN to the elimination of nuclear weapons. He is also an expert in the field of environmental consequences of war and nuclear weapons.
In this video, he talks about how Japan raised the 'acceptable' amount of 'safe' radiation from 1 millisievert twenty times, to over 20 millisieverts. They did this for no reason other than they did not want to evacuate so many people from radiation contaminated areas. For a time, they even claimed that 100 millisievert was healthy and safe.

Cesium tends to accumulate in the body of a human or animal, and then magnify up to millions of times from the bottom to the top of the food chain. Mushrooms, dairy, meat, milk and berries are often high in radiation. A daily ingestion of as little as 10 Bq/kg of Cesium in food or drink, the total body radiation in the body rises, until 500 days later, over 1,400 Bq can be counted in an internal body radiation scan. Cesium is injurious to children, and if it amounts to more than 50 Bq/kg inside the body, it damages the heart and other organs and cesium concentrates in certain organs and glands, particularly the heart.
