Schaeuble says world economy may see 7 lean years

Prophecy Sign:  The collapse of the Global economy

An interesting headline which certainly caught our eye.  The world economy may see 7 lean years??  Is that just coincidental to the 7 years of the final Tribulation period?  Perhaps, but interesting nonetheless.

No matter what your local TV news anchor might say about the economy on the mend, don't believe them.  The global economy is a mess, with huge un-payable and unsustainable debt levels.

Revelation 18 has much to say about a major economic collapse that will occur during the Tribulation.  It is our opinion that prior to this prophetic collapse, a major economic and financial restructuring of the global economy will come first, ushering in the economic world order of the Antichrist, (Revelation 13).

From the article:

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said the global economy may see "seven lean years" as a result of needed fiscal consolidation programmes, even as top U.S. economists questioned the effectiveness of austerity measures. In a speech at a meeting of Nobel laureates at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, Schaeuble said it may take years for austerity measures to bear fruit. "There might well be seven lean years ahead for the world economy," Schaeuble said, pointing to a "trade off between short term-pain and long-term gain."

German Chancellor Angela Merkel no longer has enough coalition votes in the Bundestag to secure backing for Europe's revamped rescue machinery, threatening a constitutional crisis in Germany and a fresh eruption of the euro debt saga.  Mrs Merkel has cancelled a high-profile trip to Russia on September 7, the crucial day when the package goes to the Bundestag and the country's constitutional court rules on the legality of the EU's bail-out machinery. If the court rules that the €440bn rescue fund (EFSF) breaches Treaty law or undermines German fiscal sovereignty, it risks setting off an instant brushfire across monetary union. The seething discontent in Germany over Europe's debt crisis has spread to all the key institutions of the state. "Hysteria is sweeping Germany " said Klaus Regling, the EFSF's director.
