Syria recognizes Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital

Prophecy Sign: The destiny of Damascus, (and Syria), will be destruction at the time of the end

We've noted before the prophecy of Isaiah 17 which foretells of the utter destruction of Damascus. We believe this destruction will come about because of a soon to be fulfilled middle-east war, which will see the Arab nations presently bordering Israelattempt to wipe the Jewish nation from the face of the earth, (Psalm 83). When reading through all the recent headlines these days about a coming war in the middle-east, it's not hard to see this prophetic war happening very soon.

It's no surprise then to see Syriajump on the bandwagon in it's recognition of a new Arab state called Palestine, especially one that divides up Jerusalem. And should any September unilateral United Nations declaration of this new Arab state result in another mid-east war, (as many geo-political observers suspect will happen), we can see Syria jumping right into the fray of this new war against Israel.

Syria will recognize a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, the foreign ministry said Monday. "Syria recognizes a Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital, and on the basis of the preservation of Palestinian legitimate rights," a statement said. Syria "will view the Damascus office of the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) as an embassy upon the publication of this statement," the ministry said.
