Prophecy Sign:  The establishment of a global religious system during the reign of the Antichrist

Bible prophecy warns that a time is coming when a false religious system will merge with a global political system, and the two will work together to cause the world to worship the Antichrist, or be martyred for not doing so.

We don't know what this religious system will look like, or how it's leader, (the False Prophet), will rise to power and by what miracles he will use to deceive the peoples of the world.  We do know however, that what we are seeing today, (the interfaith and ecumenical movements), are driving the religions of the world towards this false system of the Tribulation period.

One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute (religious system), who sits by many waters, (people of the world). With her the kings of the earth, (national governments), committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries, (teachings that tickle their ears).”  Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. There I saw a woman, (false religious system), sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns, (the global political/financial system of the Antichrist). The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. The name written on her forehead was a mystery: BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES, AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.  Revelation 17:1-5 NIV

From the article:
Imagine the primary Sunday morning service in a Christian church that begins with a 9-year-old Muslim boy offering the Islamic Call to Prayer, followed by a woman lighting candles on a table set with bread, wine and grape juice and offering the Jewish prayers that begin the Sabbath worship, followed by an Episcopal priest offering the "collect of the day." So began the interfaith service over the weekend at Christ Episcopal Church in Dearborn. Parishioners specifically requested the service after reading about the national "Faith Shared" project, organized by Interfaith Alliance and Human Rights First. The challenge in planning such a service was in knowing who from the other faith traditions to invite to help organize and participate in the service
