The Mark of the Beast. Just what it is, bible prophecy doesn't make entirely clear. It may be as simple as the book of Revelation seems to suggest, (a mark on the hand or forehead), or it may be something a little more sophisticate like a biometric identification system that is inserted under the skin of the hand or forehead. Whatever it may be, the world is becoming ever more educated and thus accepting to the idea of some form of government mandated personal identification system that will identify and screen each and every individual instantaneously. When the time comes, many people will be easily duped into accepting the Antichrists mark of identification.
He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. Revelation 13:16-17 NIVFrom the article:
Those long, annoying airport security screenings could soon be replaced by iris scans and micro- chips, if the International Air Transport Association has its way. The airline industry group has introduced a new biometric system to save passengers time that calls for putting a micro-chip in passports. "Passengers should be able to get from curb to boarding gate with dignity," IATA Director General Giovanni Bisignani said. "That means without stopping, stripping or unpacking, and certainly not groping." Under the new system, passengers would undergo an iris scan which would be matched against information on that chip. Then travelers would be sent through one of three 20-foot tunnels. ________________________________
A prototype of the new technology was unveiled in Singapore yesterday by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which represents the world’s major airlines. It features screening methods which are either already commonplace at airports - such as body scanners - and those which are expected to be introduced soon, including liquid detectors. The IATA system would divide passengers into three categories, who would initially be identified by an iris-recognition system before entering the arches.
