The Drug Metyrapone to Erase Bad Memories?

Prophecy Sign:  Unabashed and increasing use of narcotics and pharmaceuticals during the last days

An allusion is made to drug use in the book of Revelation.  The particular verse seems to indicate that many people of the Tribulation period will become so hardened of heart and addicted to their drug use, that they will refuse to repent...even after enduring some of the awful events of the Tribulation period.

The passage in question, (Revelation 9:21), tells us that people will not repent of their sorceries.  The original Greek word used is Pharmakia, which is the root word for Pharmaceuticals, or drugs.

These drugs may not only be the illicit, illegal types, but perhaps the mind and emotion altering prescribed ones as well.  We have two articles today, one that indicate that it is possible to mass medicate entire populations of people with mood altering Lithium added to public drinking water, and the other article which reports that a new drug can remove bad memories.  Can anyone else see how potentially addictive these new drug plans could become to the collective conscience of the World?

University of Montreal researchers say that the drug metyrapone reduces the brain’s ability to re-record the negative emotions associated with painful memories. In other words, bad memories are effectively blocked from being recalled or remembered. The team’s study challenges the theory that memories cannot be modified once they are stored in the brain.
