Iran says talks to reestablish diplomatic ties with Egypt underway

Prophecy Sign:  Egypt in end-times prophecy as an enemy of Israel, and Egypt coming under the rule of a Fierce Leader.

Have you been watching lately, as to the events occurring in Egypt?  From the rise in political power of the Islamic Muslim Brotherhood, to all the recent anti-Christian unrest that has seen churches burned and Christians killed in violence.  This is all leading to the fulfillment of end-times prophecies related to Egypt. 

The Prophet Isaiah recorded for us, the words of God, as the almighty declared that he would stir up Egyptian against Egyptian, with a fierce leader ultimately taking the reigns of power in Egypt.  It's interesting to read these articles to see how the Muslim Brotherhood is becoming a major player in Egyptian politics.  Also how a senior member of the Brotherhood will seek the Egyptian Presidency by running as an independent, (thereby keeping to the world of the Brotherhood in not running their own candidate).  Might this person become the 'fierce' leader that we are told of in the book of Isaiah?  Remains to be seen.  What we do know is that Egypt is quickly becoming no friend of Israel, which will result in Egypt taking part in the end-time wars against Israel, (Psalm 83).

A prophecy against Egypt:  “I will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian—brother will fight against brother, neighbor against neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.

I will hand the Egyptians over to the power of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them,” declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty.  Isaiah 19:2 & 4 NIV

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday that talks to re-establish diplomatic ties with Egypt were under way and it was hopeful ties would be resumed soon.

The once outlawed Muslim Brotherhood said Saturday its new political party will contest half of the seats in Egypt’s parliamentary elections in September, revealing plans to become a major force in the country’s post-revolution politics. Egypt’s largest Islamic group and the best organized opposition movement during ousted President Hosni Mubarak’s three decades of autocratic rule sought to ease concerns that it is intent on bringing about an Islamist-dominated parliament.

A senior member of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood said he would run for president as an independent, a move that could draw votes from backers of the Islamist group that has said it will not field a candidate. Secular groups and the West are concerned by how much power the Brotherhood may gain after the first elections since the toppling of president Hosni Mubarak. Decades of authoritarian rule has curbed the development of potential rivals.

Egypt's maneuvers to reshape its foreign policy include improved relations with Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, and its decision to ignore Israeli objections and reopen the Rafah border crossing after years of blockade to stop weapons smuggling into the Palestinian enclave. Egypt also brokered the reconciliation pact signed last week between Hamas and its Palestinian rival, Fatah, to cooperate on an independent homeland. Those moves come as Cairo is working to restore diplomatic ties with Iran, a country that the U.S. regards as a persistent threat to regional stability.
