EU wins super-observer status at UN

Prophecy Sign:  The emergence of a global government that will be controlled by the Antichrist, (and 10 Kings for a short period)

These are powerful headlines and have a whole lot of bible prophecy implications.  In a nutshell, the United Nations has allowed the European Union to secure what is called "super-observer" status.  In effect, the EU will now be able to address the UN just like any United Nations member nation.  The U.N. has also said that this status can now be award to any other regional union, such as the North American Union, Arab League, etc.

This is huge.  Why?  Because we are told in bible prophecy that the future Antichrist will rise out of one of these regional unions, (the revived Roman Empire - EU Superstate).  And along with the Antichrist, there will be given power to 10 Kings or Kingdoms for a short period of time.  We have already noted in past blog entries of our contention that the world will be divided during the Tribulation period into 10 economic regions with the Antichrist rising out of a EU Superstate. 

These events will allow the Antichrist to speak before the world at the U.N. as a representative of the revived Roman Empire that we now know as the European Union.  In the event of a coming global economic collapse, we can see the quick ascention to power within the United Nations of these newly constituted regional economic "kingdoms", with the Antichrist speaking for all of them.  From there, a quick consolidation of power over the economy and finances of the world under the direction of these new Kingdoms.  Just as the Prophet Daniel and the Apostle John foresaw.

“He gave me this explanation: ‘The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it. The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. The European Union on Tuesday secured super-observer status at the United Nations after overcoming objections from small states that they could see their influence eroded. A vote was passed by the 192-nation UN General Assembly after high-powered lobbying by EU foreign affairs representative Catherine Ashton and ambassadors from the 27-nation bloc. Other regional groups such as the Arab League, African Union and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) may now seek a similar extra observer rights at the global body, diplomats said.

Csaba Korosi, ambassador from Hungary, the current EU president, told the assembly: "The European Union wishes to bring its full weight to bear in supporting and strengthening" global governance.

EU Council President Herman Van Rompuy will now be able to address the United Nations no differently from US President Barack Obama, Venezuela's Hugo Chavez or Russia's Dimitri Medvedev.  In order to win the vote, the EU had to agree to changes to the global organisation that transforms the UN from an assembly of nation states into a body that also offers representation rights to regional blocs as well, including potentially the African Union, the Arab League and the South American Union.
