Soros Warns Euro Crisis May Divide Continent

Both the Prophet Daniel, and the Apostle John saw a future world empire that would exist during the years of the Tribulation.  A hint was given to Daniel and the rest of us as to where this world empire would begin its emergence.  Daniel was told that the Man of Sin would arise from the peoples who would destroy the Jewish Temple, (Daniel 9:26).  (This second Temple was but a dream when the Angel told this prophecy to Daniel). 
Several hundred years later the Roman armies under Emperor Vespasian sacked Jerusalem and destroyed this second of Temples.  This is where most prophecy observers derive the idea that the Antichrist will emerge from a reconstituted Roman Empire.  Therefore it’s important to watch what is happening in Europe.
Recent world headlines indicate that the European Union is on shaky ground with some of the weaker members requiring bailouts.  It would not be surprising if within the next several months we see a major re-organizing of the European Union, into a much more powerful and united entity with greater consolidation of powers given over to the central government in Brussels. This would make it much more plausible and probable that a leader would emerge out of this newly constituted Super-State.  From this Super-State, the tentacles of world government would entangle the remainder of the globe.

It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it. The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. Revelation 17:12-13 NIV

Billionaire financier George Soros warned Wednesday that Europe could potentially fall apart because of the “two-speed Europe” of haves and have-nots that is being perpetuated by the reform of the embattled euro. He told a news briefing on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum that the currency used by 17 EU nations is in the process of reform following concerns over the debt crisis that enveloped Greece and Ireland and is threatening others.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has said France and Germany will never let the euro fail. He acknowledged concerns about the future of the euro following bail-outs of Greece and the Irish Republic, as he addressed the World Economic Forum. "Whether it be [German] Chancellor Merkel or myself, never will we turn our backs on the euro. Never will we abandon the euro," he said. He added that those who bet against the euro should watch out for their money. "The euro spells Europe. The euro is Europe and Europe has spelled 60 years of peace on our continent, therefore we will never let the euro go or be destroyed," he insisted.
