Sicily’s Mt. Etna erupts overnight

Just how many volcanoes did we see erupt last year, (2010)?  And just how many earthquakes of a magnitude of 7.0 or greater did we here about?  Answer to both questions:  Many

Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains. Mark 13:8 NIV

From the article:
Lava lit the Sicilian sky as Mt. Etna erupted overnight Wednesday.  The two-hour eruption sent lava flying into the air and down the Italian volcano’s eastern slope.  Mt. Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe, started rumbling Tuesday and appears to be calming down as of Thursday morning. Fontanarossa airport in nearby Catania was shut down overnight but reopened around 6:30 A.M. local time. The eruption did not pose a threat to the surrounding population and scientists are monitoring the activity.

The quake, which struck at 3:16 a.m. on Friday (1615 GMT on Thursday), was very shallow at 4.5 miles and was located in the water, 77 miles northeast of Tadine in the Loyalty Islands.
