PM to Abbas: Ready to talk until 'white smoke comes out'

Will the declaration of a peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians be the fulfillment of Daniel 9:27, the seven year covenant?  The only thing we know for sure from Daniel prophecy is that the Jewish people will once again begin the sacrifices and offerings in a new Temple.  The prophecy doesn't necessarily speak of peace, although presumably, the nation of Israel will feel safe enough after the agreement to begin the construction of a Temple, and then re-institute the sacrificial system.

What we do know for sure from any Middle-East negotiated settlement is that Israel will have divided up yet more land, perhaps even parts of Jerusalem.  This will only anger God, and cause the Almighty to gather together the nations to be judged for this dividing of the land.  So keep watching the events in the middle-east.  As we get closer to any signed peace agreements between Israel and the Palestinians we know we are very close to the judgments of God.

“In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning my inheritance, my people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land. Joel 3:1-2 NIV

From the article:

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas Sunday to sit down with him in direct talks until “white smoke emerges,” an allusion to how popes are selected.  Netanyahu’s comments came in direct response to an interview Abbas gave a day earlier on Palestinian television, where he said a peace agreement with Israel could be signed within two months if Netanyahu showed “goodwill.” Abbas said that decisions, not negotiations, were needed. “I am prepared to immediately sit privately for direct, continuous negotiations with Abu Mazen [Abbas] until white smoke emerges,” Netanyahu said. “If Abu Mazen will agree to my suggestion to directly discuss all the core issues, we will know very quickly if it is possible to reach an agreement.”

Israel's prime minister said Sunday that he's ready to sit down with the Palestinian president for continuous one-on-one talks until they reach a peace deal. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued his statement on Sunday in an apparent bid to breathe life into stalled Mideast peace making. Talks broke down in late September, just three weeks after they were launched at the White House, following the expiration of a limited Israeli freeze on settlement construction.
