Lebanon to UN: Protect gas from Israel drilling

The recent discoveries of huge natural gas reserves off Israel’s coasst will make Israel self-sufficient in its own energy needs and also increase Israel’s wealth as it exports to other nations.  It will also cause its neighbors to be very covetous of these new found riches.  That talk has already started as Lebanon is looking for help from the United Nations to stop Israel from exploiting these new treasures.

Bible prophecy told us that Israel would come into riches during the last days, and that these riches would cause other nations to look to plunder that newfound wealth.

I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name. Isaiah 45:3

Lebanon has asked the United Nations to protect the country's natural gas reserves along the maritime border with Israel. Last week, Texas-based Noble Energy Inc. announced an estimated 16 trillion cubic feet of natural gas found in a field off Israel's Mediterranean coast. Late Tuesday, Lebanese Foreign Minister Ali Shami sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urging him to prevent Israel from exploiting Lebanon's oil and maritime wealth.
