The word nemesis describes the nuclear industry perfectly, as it works on accelerating humanity's downfall via nuclear war. Nuclear war will result in Armageddon. Few people realize that a nuclear war can happen in the next 5 minutes, despite there being no Cold War.

That would fry whatever electronics are exposed and knock out power grids in the affected areas. Theoretically, the whole globe could be affected all at the same time, but it is probably more likely that huge regional areas or countries would be affected.

When the walls of the crater fractured on Jan 10, 1977, the lava lake drained within an hour, causing massive lava flows of over 60 miles per hour. These flows quickly overwhelmed local villages, causing several thousand people (to die?) In 2002, another major eruption at Mt. Nyiragongo caused a lava stream to flow through the provincial capital of Goma. Fortunately, the 400,000 residents had already been evacuated, but 147 people still died as a result of the eruption. 4,500 buildings were destroyed in Goma, leaving 120,000 people homeless. Ensuing tremors destroyed even more buildings.

The title means that the "destroying" would take place all at once, but the event might happen within 100 years from now. "About 95 percent of Japan’s population is at risk of being devastated by a major volcanic eruption, which could happen “at any moment” within the next century, a study revealed. Volcanic activity has reportedly increased recently.

The research, conducted by Japanese scientists, was released on Kobe University's website on Wednesday. "It is not an overstatement to say that a colossal volcanic eruption would leave Japan extinct as a country," the authors said, according to AFP. Kobe University’s professors Yoshiyuki Tatsumi and Keiko Suzuki analyzed the scale and frequency of local volcanic eruptions over the past 120,000 years. At about 1 percent over the next 100 years, they predicted a possibility of a massive volcanic eruption that could leave about 120 million people living across Honshu, Japan’s main island, "hopeless."

It is pure insanity to build 50 nuclear reactors in an area where at any given moment, the whole country can be covered in lava and ash to the point where all of the nuclear plants in Japan would be abandoned and the melt down or blow up.. No one can predict when this will happen, but it will happen at some point, on some continent. Everyone who is proposing building more nuclear plants is only increasing the risk and danger to all of humanity. Volcanoes are a risk to humanity all by themselves. Why add to this riks by adding a regional nuclear catastrophe of dozens of reactors and spent fuel pools melting out on top of it?

NUCLEAR PLANTS VULNERABLE TO EARTHQUAKES

The massive 9.0 earthquake near Fukushima Japan took out a whole complex of nuclear reactors and spent fuel pools on 3/11. Before this natural disaster happened, the nuclear experts promised everyone that no nuclear plant could melt down, no matter what Nature threw at them, for the next 1 million years.

All nuclear reactors are vulnerable to earthquakes, as they are not built to handle both horizontal and vertical violent shaking, rolling and bouncing motions. At Fukushima, once the cooling pipes broke, that spelled the doom of the plant, no matter how many safety systems that it had. When will Nature take out another one? It is not if it can happen at this point, but when the next nuclear plant will melt down, explode and melt out.
