Human Chimpanzee Hybrid Experiment Successful - Humanzee The Result

The Human Chimp Part 1

Oliver is a mutant Chimpanzee and a former performing ape once promoted as a "Humanzee" due to his unusually human-like face and bipedal stature.

In part III, the narrator talks about how chimpanzee and human genetic experimentation has been going on secretly since the 1980s, in multiple countries, such as the UK, US, Russia and China. The scientist being interviewed predicts that it is inevitable that a chimpanzee and human hybrid will eventually happen, no matter what. at 5: in Part III, it is disclosed that an experiment at a primate center involving human sperm and a chimpanzee resulted in a live birth, and the new born was euthanized within several days.

Apes and humans are more alike than different, sharing 99% of the same genetic structure. It was thought that the difference between animals and humans was the ability to use tools, but chimpanzees commonly use tools. They also have a culture, which is passed down the generations, rather than simply inherited.

In Part IV, the genetic analysis of Oliver's blood revealed that the number of chromosomes were in between humans and chimpanzees. Humans have 46 chromosomes. Chimpanzees have 48 chromosomes. Oliver had 47 chromosomes, but a few were human, and some where chimpanzee. At 5: into video, out of 40 cells analyzed, 38 cells came back saying Oliver was a chimp. 2 cells showed 47 chromosomes.

The narrator then talks about a lawsuit that started, based on a news story alleging that a Japanese actress had agreed to have sex with Oliver, in the interest of 'science', on camera and live in front of millions of viewers. He got a public apology, because this was not something the lawyer would have agreed to, nor would condone.

Just like horses and mules can interbreed, and tigers plus lions can interbreed, so chimpanzees and humans can create a genetic hybrid. What happens in Nature when two species are mixed like this is that the resultant offspring are sterile and cannot produce further offspring. Nature has a protective mechanism in place to prevent species from mixing. And 'laws' making interbreeding with animals also help to prevent human/animal gene mixing.

But what happens if humans mix up genes from different species in a petri dish? And can this 'new' product be patented? In Part V, the narrator discusses the patent attempt by a US researcher, for an ape/human hybrid mix. The patent application was turned down, because it was 'too human' to be patentable.

At what point is an animal/human genetic mixture patentable? Is it 50/50? It is 60/40, 70/30, 80/20, or something else? Fundamentally, the attempt at patenting an human/ape hybrid was to point out how living things should not be patented, as objects.

Seeds, animals, and insects should not be privatized and used for profit purposes, as it creates all kinds of ethical, moral and social problems. Currently, animal human genetic mixing for profit is allowed by law in many countries.

Part V 2: Min in; Dr. Patrick Dixon asks the question of a judge; "How many human genes would an animal have to contain in order to win human rights, in a court of law?" The judge replied that if the monkey had more than 50% human genes, it could be prosecuted for murder in a court of human law, (assuming it had killed someone). Dr. Dixon then replied to the judge that apes already have 98% the same genes as humans. The judge than said that if another 1% of human genes were added, it would qualify as 'human'.

How did Oliver get away with NOT being classified as 'human', with all of the rights and privileges extended to humans, such as the right not be sold as an object, for example? Oliver has a heart, a soul, and mannerisms more like humans than apes. Apes will have nothing to do with Oliver, and Oliver wants nothing to do with apes. Oliver wants ONLY humans as company, and tried to 'mate' with human females once he was sexually mature.

3: About Oliver; "Something is in there, more than an animal". If Oliver were judged to be human in a court of law, it raises many questions, with no easy answers. If Oliver were to be given freedom and the right not be sold or treated as an animal, is the 1% difference enough to raise questions about how humans treat chimpanzees? Could chimpanzees still be experimented on medically, or sold as animals, given that they share 98 to 99% of human genes and can interbreed?

Oliver also raises the question about who we are. Who are we? Are we animals, or are we something unique and different? Oliver tends to point us in the direction of humans sharing more in common with animals than many people like to believe, for religious reasons as an example. Can human/animal hybrids go to Heaven? Can  ape/human hybrids be saved? Can they be convicted of crimes and be punished with jail terms? Do these ape/humans have a right to be educated and go to the school or college of their choice?

Oliver was eventually donated to a wild animal part in California. It went out of business, and Oliver disappeared from public view completely. What had happened is that Oliver had gone to a research laboratory where he spent 9 years in a 5 by 7 cage. Fortunately, but completely by chance and luck, Oliver had not been used in any experiments. The research facility agreed to hand Oliver over along with 9 other chimps to the sanctuary for apes.

IVANOV SOVIET RUSSIA MONKEY/HUMAN HYBRID EXPERIMENTS

"The humanzee (also known as the Chuman or Manpanzee) is a hypothetical chimpanzee/human hybrid. Chimpanzees and humans are closely related (sharing 95% of their DNA sequence and 99% of coding DNA sequences), leading to contested speculation that a hybrid is possible.

The Ivanov experiments

Ilya Ivanovich Ivanov was the first person to attempt to create a human--ape hybrid. As early as 1910 he gave a presentation to the World Congress of Zoologists in Graz, Austria, in which he described the possibility of creating such a hybrid by artificial insemination.

In 1924, while working at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, Ivanov obtained permission from the Institute's directors to use its experimental primate station in Kindia, French Guinea, for such an experiment. Ivanov attempted to gain backing for his project from the Soviet government. He dispatched letters to the People's Commissar on Education and Science Anatoliy Vasilievich Lunacharsky and to other officials.

Ivanov's proposal finally sparked the interest of Nikolai Petrovich Gorbunov, the head of the Department of Scientific Institutions. In September 1925 Gorbunov helped allocate US $10,000 to the USSR Academy of Sciences (now the Russian Academy of Sciences) for Ivanov's human-ape hybridization experiments in Africa.

In March 1926 Ivanov arrived at the Kindia facility, but stayed only a month without success. The Kindia site, it turned out, had no sexually mature chimpanzees. He returned to France where he arranged through correspondence with French Guinea's colonial governor to set up experiments at the botanical gardens in Conakry.

Ivanov reached Conakry in November 1926 accompanied by his son, also named Ilya, who would assist him in his experiments. Ivanov supervised the capture of adult chimpanzees in the interior of the colony, which were brought to Conakry and kept in cages in the botanical gardens. On February 28, 1927, Ivanov inseminated two female chimpanzees with his own sperm. On June 25, his son inseminated a third chimpanzee with his sperm. The Ivanovs left Africa in July with thirteen chimps, including the three used in his experiments. They already knew before leaving that the first two chimpanzees had failed to become pregnant. The third died in France, and was also found not to have been pregnant. The remaining chimps were sent to a new primate station at Sukhumi.

Although Ivanov attempted to organize the insemination of human females with chimpanzee sperm in Guinea, these plans met with resistance from the French colonial government and there is no evidence such an experiment was arranged there.

Upon his return to the Soviet Union in 1927, Ivanov began an effort to organize hybridization experiments at Sukhumi using ape sperm and human females. Eventually in 1929, through the help of Gorbunov, he obtained the support of the Society of Materialist Biologists, a group associated with the Communist Academy. In the spring of 1929 the Society set up a commission to plan Ivanov's experiments at Sukhumi. They decided that at least five volunteer women would be needed for the project. However, in June 1929, before any inseminations had taken place, Ivanov learned that the only postpubescent male ape remaining at Sukhumi (an orangutan) had died. A new set of chimps would not arrive at Sukhumi until the summer of 1930." Source; description below video..
