Did you know war has been outlawed internationally? So why are groups and nations still using weapons and violence? Shouldn't all weapons of mass destruction be outlawed and banned as well, as a followup?
WARS HAVE BEEN OUTLAWED, SO WHY ARE THEY STILL GOING ON? WHO IS PARTICIPATING ILLEGALLY?
The End Of All Wars; Kellogg–Briand Pact Abolished And Outlawed All Warmongering
http://agreenroad.blogspot.com/2014/07/the-end-of-all-wars-kelloggbriand-pact.htmlTOTAL BUDGET FOR DEPT OF PEACE IS ZERO, ZERO, ZERO, BUT DEPT OF WAR IS GETTING 1.3 TRILLION PER YEAR
The total budget for a Dept. Of Peace in the USA is (0) ZERO Dollars. At the same time, the Dept Of War(s) are funded to the tune of $1.3 TRILLION Dollars per year in the USA alone. This is symbolic for how much people value peace, and the value that they assign to wars. However, this value can be changed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Department_of_Peace
Why are nations spending money on something that is now illegal, immoral and unethical? Why not spend the same amount of money on peace, and peace building organizations, such as the Peace Corp?
Maybe it is time to assign new values, and vote in people who will change this balance of power and reverse this formula? What would the world look like if 1.3 TRILLION were spent on peace each year, and zero was spent on illegal wars and weapons?

IMAGINE
Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...
Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...
Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

There was a stump of a tree, and in the dark a thief came that way and said, That is a policeman. A young man waiting for his beloved saw it and thought it was his sweetheart. A child who had been told ghost stories took it for a ghost and began to shriek. But all the time it was the stump of a tree. We see the world as we are. That which we have inside, we see outside. ~ Vivekananda
An old rabbi once asked his pupils how they could tell when the night had ended and the day had begun. "Could it be," asked one of the students, "when you can see an animal in the distance and tell whether it's a sheep or a dog?" "No", answered the rabbi. Another asked, "Is it when you can look at a tree in the distance and tell whether it is a fig treee or a peach tree?" "No", answered the rabbi. "Then when is it?" the pupils demanded. "It is when you can look on the face of any man or woman and see that it is your sister or brother. Because if you cannot see this, it is still night." ~Tales of the Hasidim

May those who hold in their hands the fate of the nations take care to avoid anything that might make the situation in which we now find ourselves still more difficult and might still further endanger us. May they take to heart the wonderful words of the Apostle Paul: 'As much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.' Romans 12: 18 This is true not only for individuals for also for nations. May they go to the utmost limit of possibility in their effort to preserve the peace with each other, so that there may be time for the human spirit to grow strong and to act."

Whenever you hear that someone else has been successful, rejoice. Always practice rejoicing for others--whether your friend or your enemy. If you cannot practice rejoicing, no matter how long you live, you will not be happy.

Peace Pilgrim Quote of the Month for October 2007
If any influential nation had the great spiritual strength to lay down its arms and appear with clean hands before the world, the world would be changed. I see no evidence that any influential nations has such great spiritual strength and courage. Therefore disarmament will be a slow process, motivated by the wish to survive.
Peace Pilgrim: Her Life and Works in Her Own Words - Pg. 101
"I don't see much improvement in man's heart. The whole thing is in man's heart: his desire, his greed, his lust, his pride, his ego. All of these things meshed together bring about sometimes a world war and sometimes a small war, but wars are going on everywhere, even in families. It's a personal thing with each of us."
Billy Graham
The old parties are husks, with no real soul within either, divided on artificial lines, boss-ridden and privilege-controlled, each a jumble of incongruous elements, and neither daring to speak out wisely and fearlessly on what should be said on the vital issues of the day.

SUMMARY
Peace is the ONLY reality and it starts within. War is the illusion. Peace is the real value. Forgiveness is the only way to get to peace when starting from where most people are. True compassion means forgiving everyone for everything. The hardest person to forgive is oneself. War offers only the illusion of value. Peace offers sustainability, while war offers certain destruction of all life. Peace offers a secure future while nuclear weapons and nuclear power plants guarantee the destruction of all humanity.

Peace is the real value and worth investing in or donating something for, while war is a total waste of money. Peace is the way, while war is losing the way. Peace is the only worthwhile goal inside and outside, while war is the manifestation of fears and anger that are totally worthless and useless, other than to show the constrast between war and peace.
Peace is cheap, war is becoming more and more expensive. Peace promotes health, while war destroys it. Peace promotes harmony and brotherhood, while war destroys this. Peace values and respects all religions and paths, while war promotes division and hatred. Peace promotes more peace, especially if it is taught in school via non violent communications methods and alternatives to violence options. War only plants the seeds for more wars, bigger wars and Armageddon.
War and WMD; what are they good for? Nothing. War has been abolished, so what is humanity waiting for? Isn't it time to send all of the troops home to their wives and families? Isn't it time to destroy all WMD? Isn't it time to dismantle all of the weapons and turn them into plowshares? If not now, when?
