The three P's are the curse of nuclear power, and they offer enough reasons to ban all nuclear power plants and weapons, without any nuclear disaster being involved. 1 - POLLUTION AND GLOBAL WARMING


Pollution is the first deadly and radioactive P caused by the nuclear industry, despite their claim of being green and safe. 

Mining creates massive uranium dust pollution and uses massive quantities of fossil fuel. The dust is radioactive and the waste piles are too, but they are often used in building materials, making the buildings dangerous to be in.

Creating nuclear fuel from the ore also creates massive pollution and uses massive amounts of fossil fuel, while releasing massive quantities of global warming gases from the refrigerant used during this phase.

Transporting the nuclear fuel is also creating pollution and costs even more in terms of fossil fuel use, because all of the ships, trains, trucks and more all need to be constructed using fossil fuels as well. 

The disposal of the waste creates more nuclear radiation pollution problems, and the nuclear garbage is going to be around for billions of years, while only generating electricity for a few years. This doesn't make sense, does it?

Who is going to pay for guarding or clean up this nuclear garbage for billions of years? We already know that the nuclear industry is going to make taxpayers pay for all of their garbage. Do you feel like handing your kids and a million future generations of their kids the bill for radioactive garbage? 

2 - PRICE


Price is a second P factor that is not really calculated properly. The Ukraine spends 5-7 percent of their total budget on the messes created by Chernobyl and this is accident is now generations down the road. Neither the Ukrainians (they are broke) nor the nuclear industry paid for the new cover over the Chernobyl melted down reactor. Trying to pay for the cover would have bankrupt the country, again. The cover will only last 100 years, and then it will have to be built all over again. Who will pay for it every 100 years for tens of thousands of years into the future?

The problems caused by the radiation pollution are getting WORSE, not better. The nuclear industry cannot even afford the sarcophogus on ONE melted down reactor, which has to be replaced every 100 or so years. The cost of 1.2 Billion for the present one was paid for by the entire EU collection of nations. What is going to happen with future melted down reactors, because they are sure to happen.

The nuclear industry certainly is NOT paying their fair share for any of the consequences of this accident, nor any other nuclear accident. They ARE being paid to FAIL. They are paid more to fail massively. The nuclear industry takes the profits, but 'give' the risks, the health consequences, the deaths, and the highly toxic heavy metal and radioactive garbage to the public, which means you and I. Then they also get paid to 'clean' the areas that they contaminated. No one goes to jail. No one is punished for causing all of this harm, and for killing 1 million people, just at Chernobyl. No matter what, the nuclear industry wins and citizen taxpayers lose, lose, lose.  

The Fukushima nuclear plant meltdowns should cause the bankruptcy of Japan. The only way they can avoid this consequence is to pretend the mega disaster never happened and sell the country to tourists, plus send people back into the contaminated zones, while covering up the harm caused in all directions The cost of cleanup, medical costs and loss of land, housing, manufacturing, infrastructure and more will all be a burden on the Japanese people, not the nuclear industry or the specific nuclear power utility company that is concerned only with short term profits, and selling more nuclear reactors. 

3 - PROLIFERATION


The third P is the problem with proliferation. Nuclear weapons come from nuclear power plants. The problems created include hydrogen bombs, depleted uranium weapons, shells and bombs, as well as potential dirty bombs that are very easy to make.

The lack of a focus on safety and community preparation for a nuclear accident or disaster only makes the proliferation problem much worse. The nuclear industry promotes inadequate evacuation plans (if there are any) that only go out a few miles, instead of the 50 to 100 miles that are needed. The nuclear industry keeps pushing for less and less planning, allowing more radiation in food and water, plus less and less transparency, emergency planning or reporting requirements, and they are getting them. 

Fukushima, TMI and Chernobyl are just a few of the covered up accidents that have happened.

DEMAND AN END TO NUCLEAR POWER


The general population needs to rise up and demand an end to nuclear power, nuclear weapons, and all of the associated industries, such as the making of DU weapons and munitions, from nuclear waste material. This can start on the local grass roots community level, with local communities banning nuclear anything inside their jurisdiction via an ordinance, and statements supporting the banning of nuclear energy, weapons and technology. As the bottoms up community movement grows, it will eventually affect the national politics.

The cesium radiation levels around Chernobyl are NOT going down as predicted. The unknowns are much greater than the knowns. This is a huge radiation experiment on rats, called humans, and they did not give their permission for this unauthorized experiment. 

Governments all around the world are arbitrarily raising radiation levels to amounts that are formerly only for nuclear workers exposed to high radiation levels. This is a cruel experiment that will affect many future generations.
