Russia is prophesied to be part of the alliance of nations that will come against Israel in the Gog/Magog war, (Ezekiel 38). When we read the prophecy written in Ezekiel, it would appear that Russia will not come voluntarily, but will be dragged into the conflict by some means or event.
The article we have included with this blog entry is very interesting given that prophecy. In the article, a top military General in the Russian army warns that the events in the middle-east may turn nuclear, and that Russia may in fact have to come to the aid of one of its allies in the middle-east should this happen. No doubt that would include any full-scale attacks on Syria or Iran.
This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. Ezekiel 38:3-4 NIV
A steady decline in Russia ’s conventional forces has prompted the Kremlin to rely increasingly on its nuclear deterrent. The nation’s military doctrine says it may use nuclear weapons to counter a nuclear attack on Russia or an ally, or a large-scale conventional attack that threatens Russia ’s existence.
