Attack on Iran could risk Gulf oil supplies

Prophecy Sign:  Middle-East War, followed by a devastated global economy

We have warned in previous blog entries that a middle-east conflict will not only be devastating for the peoples of the middle-east, but will make a mess of the world economy. How? By oil prices shooting through the roof. This is exactly what will happen if Iranwhere to shut down the Persian Gulf.

Meanwhile a U.N. report pretty much makes the case that Iranwill have nuclear weapons within the next months. Israelnow has only a small window of opportunity to decide if it will initiate any attacks on Iran’s facilities before the Iranians reach this level.

Needless to say, we are living in perilous times.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 Timothy 3:1 KJV
From the articles:
Iran is contemplating violently shutting down shipping in the Persian Gulf as one of several counterattack options if Israel strikes its nuclear facilities, regional and intelligence analysts say. Such attacks would present the Obama administration with the option of undertaking a limited war against Iran by striking its warships and shore-based anti-ship missiles to keep the Gulf open for business.
Former CIA analyst Larry C. Johnson said Iran has enough firepower to effectively close the Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, through which 40 percent of all the world’s oil moves. “One of the things that Iran has exercised, has the capability to do, is shut down the Persian Gulf,” Mr. Johnson said. “The best-case scenario is they shut it down for a week. The worst case is they shut it down for three to four months.”

The IAEA has released a 25-page report on Iran’s nuclear activities. The U.N. report concludes there is “credible” evidence that:
  1. Iran is systematically enriching nuclear fuel towards military applications.
  2. Iran — since the late-1970s — has been building clandestine nuclear facilities to evade international detection.
  3. Iran’s nuclear program no longer run by civilians but by the Ministry of Defense.
  4. Iran is steadily developing nuclear warheads.
  5. Iran is developing long-range ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear warheads against her enemies.
  6. Iran has made preparations to test its first nuclear bomb.
  7. Iran did not cease developing military applications for its nuclear program in 2003, as the CIA reported in its controversial National Intelligence Estimate in 2007, but rather accelerated its efforts to develop the Bomb.
