Prophecy Sign: Those churches that forget what they believe will be removed from existence
The Church of England, (Anglican), once a powerful force for theKingdom of God has become a watered down and ineffective shell of its former self, (aside from some conservative branches that still preach the gospel). The Church has openly proclaimed its support of Gays and Lesbians, even going so far as to ordaining Homosexual Ministers. The Church of England has even begun to work with the Catholic Church to bring the two together once again under the dominion of the Roman Church, ( Anglicans to Enter Catholic Church ).
In the book of Revelation we read about theChurch of Ephesus , which had lost its first love. First love being the zeal the Ephesians had for their salvation and love of Jesus Christ. The Church of Ephesus was in danger of completely falling away from true biblical Christianity. Sounds like the Church of Ephesus from nearly 2,000 years ago and the present day Church of England have much in common. Jesus warned the Church of Ephesus that if they did not repent and turn back to him, that their lamp-stand, (or authority through Jesus Christ), would be removed and the church left to die.

The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lamp-stands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lamp-stands are the seven churches. Revelation 1:20 NIV
To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lamp-stand from its place. Revelation 2:4-5 NIV
From the article:
Anglican leaders in the United Kingdom are concerned about the future of the Church of England. They say the next 20 years will decide if it survives or dies out. While many Anglican churches are in decline, some are not giving up without a fight. At St. Swithuns Church in Retford, services have dropped to a maximum of 20 people, most of them retired. St. Swithuns Team Rector Rev. Tony Walker said the biggest challenge is that people no longer feel a commitment to be a regular part of the church community.
