We are amazed by the number of reports that we have seen over the last several weeks about volcanoes that are near to eruption, or are alarmingly showing signs of life. This, along with the vast increase in significant earthquakes in the last couple years, has the word of God ringing in our mind and our hearts.

An earthquake registering 4.0 on the Richter scale shook the area of Sarapiqui, Vara Blanca and Venecia on Sunday. The Observatorio Vulcanológico y Sismológico de Costa Rica (OVSICORI) - national volcano and seismology observatory - reported the epicentre 10 kilometres north of the Barva volcano, with a depth of 7.5 kilometres, caused by a local fault.

A large swarm of more than 41 tremors have been reported taking place today in the ocean on the north side of El Hierro, (Canary Islands ). The tremors are happening off the coast of NW Frontera and are an indication that magmatic pressures have moved across the island.
