Prophecy Sign: Marginalization of Christianity in the Western world

Since when do you need a permit to have a bunch of people over to have a bible study? Why when you live in Californiathat's when. This is not the first article we've seen regarding Californiaauthorities fining a Christian group for holding a home bible study. What is this, Communist China?

We can understand why a City may require a permit from groups that may want to turn their home into an actual church, a community hall or a social club hangout. But this is just a bunch of friends getting together for an evening of study. Would these same authorities shut down Super Bowl parties that may in fact have far more people parked out front of some neighborhood home? No, because those same authorities would be the ones throwng some of those parties.
They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. John 15:21NIV
From the article:
A city best known for its historic Catholic Mission is facing a lawsuit from a couple cited by code-enforcement officers for holding a Bible study in their home. Chuck and Stephanie Fromm paid $200 in fines after receiving at least two citations from the city of San Juan Capistrano. They appealed the tickets to a hearing officer who sided with the city, leading to the August 31 lawsuit in Orange County Superior Court.

The Fromms’ citations say they violated section 9-3.301 of the Capistrano Municipal Code, which prohibits “religious, fraternal or non-profit” organizations in residential neighborhoods without a conditional-use permit. The footnote on the section says it “Includes churches, temples, synagogues, monasteries, religious retreats, and other places of religious worship and other fraternal and community service organizations.”
