Al-Qaeda’s affiliates in Africa, working side by side

Prophecy Sign:  The King of the South and the Southern members of the Gog/Magog alliance

We have read and heard much about the prophetic developments in the northern nations that will make up the Gog/Magog alliance. Iran, (Persia), with its nuclear weapon ambitions. Turkey, (Beth Togarmah), with its recent distancing and belligerence towards Israel. And Russia, (Magog), with its increasing alliances with the Arab world.

What we had not heard much about is the developments in the South. Well this article caught our attention. Seems that those North African Muslim nations of a radical Islamic persuasion are working side by side, (or at least the Al-Queda groups among those nations). Radical Islam hates the Jews and will jump at any chance to finish off Israelonce and for all.

In the book of Ezekiel, we are told that Cushand Put will make up part of the Gog/Magog alliance which will come against Israel. Cush was the area of present day Sudanand Ethiopia, while Put, is usually associated with present day Libya, (with some references to present day Somalia). Interesting that both North Africa, (perhaps Sudanand Libya), and Somalia are named in this article.

Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you. Ezekiel 38:5 NIV
From the article:
Al-Qaeda’s core leadership in Pakistan may be losing strength, but the terrorist network’s affiliates in northern and central Africa are hardly weakening. In fact, U.S. officials say, the groups are increasingly collaborating with each other. Three regional Islamic extremist groups – al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb in North Africa, the Boko Haram in Nigeria and the al-Shabab militia in Somalia – are sharing trainers and copying each other’s tactics, according to Gen. Carter F. Ham, chief of the U.S. Africa Command. “Just the fact that they want to connect is worrying,” Ham said at a breakfast hosted by the Defense Writers Group. While he said each of the three affiliates poses a threat locally, “what’s of greater concern actually is the voiced intent of the three organizations to more closely collaborate and synchronize their networks.”
