All signs say Iran is racing toward a nuclear bomb

Prophecy Sign:  Iran, (Persia), will become involved in major prophetic events at the end times.  Specifically, war with Israel.

Iran, (Persia in the bible), is foretold in bible prophecy to become a major force in end-times events. Iran will join with several other nations from the middle-east, North Africa and the northern regions, (likely Russia), in an attempted invasion and conquest of Israel. (Ezekiel 38/39).

While we don't know what exactly will transpire in this battle, we do know that the aftermath of the battle will not be pleasant. For seven years, the peoples of the region will use the abandoned armaments as fuel, and for seven months after the battle, the people of Israel will systematically cleanse the land and bury the dead, in fact going so far as to mark the bones of the dead with a flag for reference for the gravediggers. It almost sounds like a containment operation, (perhaps the aftermath of a nuclear explosion?)

For seven months the Israelites will be burying them in order to cleanse the land. All the people of the land will bury them, and the day I display my glory will be a memorable day for them, declares the Sovereign LORD. People will be continually employed in cleansing the land. They will spread out across the land and, along with others, they will bury any bodies that are lying on the ground.  After the seven months they will carry out a more detailed search. As they go through the land, anyone who sees a human bone will leave a marker beside it until the gravediggers bury it in the Valley of Hamon Gog, near a town called Hamonah. And so they will cleanse the land. Ezekiel 38:12-16 NIV
From the articles:
This announcement by the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization was very disturbing to Israel, the United States and other Western countries. It indicates that Iran is determined to continue its nuclear program at full speed and is even accelerating the pace. It means Iran's leadership is undaunted by the sanctions imposed on the country, or by the damage the Stuxnet computer worm caused to the program that operates the centrifuges at the uranium enrichment facility in Natanz.

Iran's president says his country isn't afraid of making a nuclear weapon but doesn't intend to do so. Iranian state television on Thursday quoted President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as saying: "If we do want to make a bomb, we are not afraid of anybody."
