Prophecy Sign:  The growing alliance of Russia with the Muslim world, (the Gog/Magog alliance)

Russia has been for some time, engaged in confrontation with its Muslim southern regions.  There has been a great deal of terrorist activity in Russia with Muslim extremists.  Islam is on the rise in parts of Russia, and Russia herself is becoming closely aligned with Muslim nations such as Iran, Libya, Syria and Turkey;  All nations that are prophesized to become involved in wars against Israel.  It would only make sense then that a future Russia with an increasingly Islamic side to it, will look to engage Israel on behalf of her Muslim allies should these nations become involved in war against Israel.  (Most prophecy observers peg Russia as the people group named as Magog in the prophecy of Ezekiel).

That is the question that swirled throughout Moscow when a top imam called for the addition of the Islamic crescent moon symbol to the Russian emblem. The surprise call by Talgat Tadzhuddin during an interview with a leading Russian newspaper was met with alarm because the imam heads the Central Spiritual Association of Muslims of Russia, a major regional Islamic association. As quickly as the word of the proposal became public it ignited a wave of condemnation.
