Radial Islamist groups gaining stranglehold in Egypt

Prophecy Sign:  The transformation of Egypt into a major enemy of Israel, and the eventual rise of a fierce leader to take control of Egypt.

Egypt will eventually fall under the control of what the bible refers to as a "fierce leader".  Egypt will also shake off the peace treaty it has with the nation of Israel, and will become involved in war with the Jewish state.  We expect this war will be the battle prophesied in Psalm 83, which will see an alliance of nations, that border Israel, come against the Jewish state in order to wipe out once and for all, the name of Israel in the middle-east, (don't worry....they loose).  In fact Egypt is prophesied to see much devastation due to her turning against Israel in war, (Isaiah 19 and Ezekiel 29).

I will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian—brother will fight against brother, neighbour against neighbour, city against city, kingdom against kingdom. I will hand the Egyptians over to the power of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them,” declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty. Isaiah 19:2&4 NIV

From the news articles:
The rapid spread of Muslim political parties ahead of September's parliamentary elections has strengthened fears that Egyptian democracy will be dominated by radical Islamic movements.  The Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's largest Islamic movement and the founder of Hamas, has set up a network of political parties around the country that eclipse the following of the middle class activists that overthrew the regime. On the extreme fringe of the Brotherhood, Islamic groups linked to al-Qeada are organising from the mosques to fill the vacuum left by the collapse of the dictatorship.

Egypt's Christians are looking for ways to leave the country over concerns radical Muslims are gaining power in wake of President Hosni Mubarak's ouster. Human rights lawyers say they're receiving calls from hundreds of Christians seeking help in getting out the majority Muslim nation. "They are insisting on leaving Egypt because the risks of staying here are too great," Naguib Gabriel, a Coptic human rights lawyer, told Egypt Daily News.
