Prophecy Sign: Very expensive food prices causing civil unrest
The Apostle John wrote the book of Revelation as he was given the inspiration and visions from Jesus Christ. One of the things he saw was a time when food prices would become very expensive. In fact, requiring a days wage to purchase just enough food for one day. Jesus Christ in his Olivet discourse told his disciples that there would be a rise in civil unrest with internal revolutions and Kingdoms rising against Kingdoms at the time of the end.
Economists and politicians are now very concerned with the rising oil prices and how that will effect world food prices. The concern is that we will see more and more civil unrest and revolutions around the world as food prices continue to rise.

When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!” Revelation 6:5-6 NIV

World food prices have hit new records and oil price spikes could push them even higher, the UN food agency warned on Thursday, as unrest in the Middle East and North Africa hits markets. The Food Price Index, which monitors average monthly price changes for a variety of key staples, rose to 236 points in February from 231 points in January, the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said. It was the highest level since FAO began monitoring prices in 1990.
