US monitor says two 7-magnitude earthquakes strikes northeastern Myanmar

The world continues to shake with powerful earthquakes.  In days past, earthquakes in the magnitude of 7.0 or greater would be quite news worthy. Now they pale in comparison to the temblors we have seen since December of 2004. From that date on we have seen three of the largest earthquakes since 1900:  9.1 - Sumatra in 2004,  9.0 - Japan in 2011,  8.8 - Chile in 2010.  Are earthquakes increasing?  Debatable perhaps, but we sure seem to be having more of the great ones.

There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. Luke 21:11 NIV

From the news articles:
Two strong earthquakes struck northeastern Myanmar less than a minute apart Thursday night. They could be felt as far away as Bangkok, but a tsunami was not generated. The first 7.0-magnitude quake was just six miles (10 kilometres) deep, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was followed by another of the same strength but far deeper: 140 miles (230 kilometres).
