UN chief: End occupation, divide Jerusalem

It's been a busy day for the world’s most clueless United Nations leader.  First he tells everyone on his rubber chicken circuit that the middle-east uprisings are all good, nothing to worry about here, (see our other blog entry today).  Then he informs everyone that what Israel is doing in East Jerusalem and the West Bank is just bad; lets jump all over Israel now.  OK.  We wouldn't want to be in Ban Ki-moons loafers when God Almighty asks him about his policies towards Israel.  (read Joel 3)

This is just another example of the pressure that is being exerted on Israel in order to have the Jewish state cave to the demands of the Palestinians.  However, you have got to hand it to the moxy of the Jewish people.  They have now said that if the U.N. wants to play the game of unilateral declarations, Israel would then go ahead and unilaterally annex every major settlement in the so called "occupied" territories.  Oh that will sit will with the Palestinians and every other enemy of Israel.

September may well turn out to be a major click on Gods prophetic time clock.  Some are anticipating a signed peace treaty of the seven year variety, (Daniel 9:27).  We on the other hand anticipate a major war first, with Israel cleaning everyone’s clock that comes looking to take them out, (Psalm 83).  Then a peace treaty will be signed, with Israel seeming living securely in the land, (Ezekiel 38:11).  But you know what the bible says about mans attempts to secure peace in the middle-east:

While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 1 Thessalonians 5:3 NIV

From the news articles:
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon slammed Israel's policy and called for the division of Jerusalem on Tuesday. In a message delivered by his assistant at a UN regional meeting in Uruguay, Ban said: "The target date for completing the Palestinian Authority’s two-year State-building program is fast-approaching."
“The occupation that started in 1967 is morally and politically unsustainable, and must end," he told the UN Latin American and Caribbean Meeting in Support of Israeli-Palestinian Peace.

“The target dates for reaching an Israeli-Palestinian agreement on permanent status issues and completing the Palestinian Authority’s two-year State-building program are fast-approaching. Yet, the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations remain at a worrying standstill," Ban's statement said.

Jerusalem is weighing the annexation of the major settlement blocs if Palestinians seek unilateral recognition of statehood, an official in Jerusalem told AP on Tuesday. The official said that "adopting unilateral measures is not a one-way street," and that it was not the only option being considered, according to the report. He cautioned, however, that he was not aware of how seriously the political leadership was considering such a bold move.
