Mass fish death in California harbor

It's been a couple of months since we saw the mass bird and fish deaths that completely freaked out the world.  Well every once and awhile we still read of another mass kill off of fish or some other such aquatic life.  Like these articles, (see below), which report that millions of dead fish floated to the surface in a California harbour.  And as always, the authorities are right there with a scripted explanation that seems quite plausible in explaining away the deaths.  It's almost as if they are waving you past with the "move along...nothing to see here" spiel.  But what if there is something more to all this??

Millions of dead fish were found floating in a California harbor after apparently becoming trapped and expiring due to lack of oxygen, experts said. The silver-colored fish appeared overnight at King Harbor in Redondo Beach, where the surface of the water was covered, said officials.

Authorities in Redondo Beach are investigating what killed millions of fish over the last day at King Harbor Marina.  Fish, including anchovies, sardines and mackerel were floating lifeless in Basins 1 and 2 of the north side of King Harbor Marina. "There’s basically fish everywhere you go in the harbor," said the harbor's assistant manager, Jason McMullin, who added that there were reports that a red tide may have driven the fish into the harbor in massive numbers where they died because of limited oxygen.
