We pray for the peace of Israel , Jerusalem and for all the other middle-east nations, as we are told to do in the book of Psalm (chapter122:6-9). However the prophecies of the bible will be fulfilled within God's time-line. One of those prophecies is the much discussed Psalm 83 war which warns that the Arab Muslim neighbors of Israel will come together in an attempt to destroy the name of Israel forever. That prophecy is looking ever closer to occurring.
The Obama administration's policy of cozying up to the Muslim world at the expense of a long time ally, (Israel), along with the recent announcements of the recognition of a new Palestinian state from nations around the world, and the general unrest and upheavals in the middle-east have all emboldened the enemies of the Jewish state. Israel is now coming under attack from rocket launches and terrorist attacks, under the direction of Iran . Israel is also watching Syria in the event the Syrians attempt to cause similar provocation along their shared border in an attempt to draw attention away from increasing civil unrest in Syria .
It seems that the enemies of Israel are just itching to attack. Just how much longer before something really explodes between Israel and her neighbors is a question we simply can't answer. That's why we continue to pray, knowing just what is soon to come:
See how your enemies growl, how your foes rear their heads. With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. “Come,” they say, “let us destroy them as a nation, so that Israel ’s name is remembered no more.” Psalm 83:2-4 NIV
