Turkey plays growing political role in Middle East

There is a people group mentioned in bible prophecy that historians have equated with present day Turkey.  The peoples of Beth Togarmah, (Turkey), along with the land of Magog, (present day Russia), and Persia, (Iran), will align with several nations from north Africa, (Libya, Ethiopia, North Sudan), in an end times wars known as the battle of Gog/Magog.  This war and alliance is foretold for us in the book of Ezekiel, chapters 38 & 39.

The ascendancy of both Iran and Turkey on both the world stage and in middle-east affairs show not come as a surprise to any of us who study bible prophecy.  In fact, if we are as close to the end of this current dispensation, (the Church age), as many of us think we are, we should see a hastening of developments as events line-up for end-times fulfillment.

The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.
