Iran is "steadily" producing enriched uranium, the head of the UN nuclear monitoring organization said in an interview published The Washington Post Monday. Yukia Amano, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, expressed concern it might be pursuing military goals. "Iran is somehow producing uranium enriched to 3.5 percent and 20 percent. They are producing it steadily, constantly," Amano told the paper.  Iran is at loggerheads with the West over its nuclear programme of uranium enrichment, and the last round of talks between Tehran and the world powers broke down in Istanbul in January.

Iran is steadily producing enriched uranium despite the 2009 Stuxnet worm, International Atomic Energy Agency Director-General Yukia Amano told The Washington Post in an interview published on Monday. The IAEA chief told the paper that the agency is concerned "over the possible use of nuclear materials for military purposes - in the past and perhaps now." He said that the Iranian regime has well over 3,000 kilograms of enriched uranium and continues to stockpile it contrary to UN Security Council resolutions to that effect.
