Egypt Army Takes Over, Mubarak to Address Nation

UPDATE!! - Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has refused to resign.

If these reports are true, and the long time Egyptian President does in fact resign, what does this mean for Egypt, and ultimately Israel and the remainder of the Middle-East?  No one can be certain, but given the prophecies in the bible we can ascertain two things:

First, this development would move the middle-east that much closer to war, (as prophesied in Psalm 83).  The Muslim Brotherhood, the largest organized political group in Egypt is very much anti-Israel and have already said that should they gain power, they would throw out the Egypt/Israel peace treaty, and would prepare for war with Israel.  Second, the Egyptian people may see someone worse rise to power, than what they have had for the past 30 years:

“I will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian, brother will fight against brother, neighbor against neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom. The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will bring their plans to nothing; they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead, the mediums and the spiritists. I will hand the Egyptians over to the power of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them,” declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty. Isaiah 19:2-4 NIV

From the articles:
Egypt's military took control of the nation's government Thursday, indicating also that President Hosni Mubarak will step down after 30 years in power. State TV said Mubarak will speak to the nation Thursday night from his palace in Cairo. Gen. Hassan al-Roueini, military commander for the Cairo area, assured thousands of anti-governments protestors calling for their leader's immediate resignation that "all your demands will be met today."

President Hosni Mubarak will step down shortly and transfer authority to the Egyptian Higher Council of the Armed Forces, a senior Egyptian official confirmed to Fox News on Thursday. The group is comprised of the minister of defense, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi — who stands atop the military hierarchy — along with the military’s chief of staff, the chief of operations, and commanders of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Air Defenses.
