During the Tribulation period we are warned that there will be a food crisis. In fact it will get so bad that a day’s wages will only buy enough provisions for one person for one day. On the other hand, high end goods will be unaffected by these inflationary pressures.

Why is this? Simple supply and demand economics. There will likely be an abundance of high end goods during the Tribulation that people will have no need of. On the other hand, people will be looking for food which will be in short supply, causing prices to shoot through the roof. Just as these articles suggest.

The above verse paraphrased: Then I heard a voice say, a days worth of food for a days wages, but high end goods will not see their prices affected.
