So much is happening these days in the Middle-East that could easily see an eruption of war in the region. Those geo-political events include; Iran's race to acquire nuclear weapons, the recent discovery of vast amounts of oil and natural gas in Israel and off her coastline, the on again off again peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, and now the news that the government of Lebanon has collapsed.
This recent news is very important from Israel ’s standpoint. Iran , (and its proxy Hezbollah) have essentially taken over much of Lebanon , and we all know just how Iranian President Mahmoud Amadinejad feels about Israel . There are also reports that Syria feels it has some claims to Lebanon , and will undoubtedly try to interfere with Lebanon ’s domestic affairs. Having either Syria or Iran , (both enemies of Israel ), take over Lebanon would be most disconcerting for Israel . In fact Israel has already puts its northern defenses on alert, as Iran has come out and blamed Israel and the United States for the Lebanese governments fall.
Stay tuned. The implications of all these events are drawing us closer to the very final days of this dispensation and the soon call to home for those of us in the Body of Christ, the Church.
