This report was broadcasted on October, 18 and 24 by the german TV-station WDR. WDR is a part of the public channel ARD.
Their Japan-correspondent went to Minamisoma for a week and talked to people there about their lives after the Fukushima catastrophe. He spoke with residents and children living in Fukushima province area 'decontaminated' homes, schools and communities. As you will see, life in a 'decontaminated' area is not what you might think or believe. Decontamination is not simply wiping up dust and everything is back to normal. Life is much, much different from 'normal' even in a supposedly decontaminated and safe area.

Japan is quickly moving to open up all but the worst radiation contaminated affected Fukushima disaster evacuation zones. The goal is to declare them to all be safe and normal to live in.
According to Arnie Gunderson, in the above video, residents are being forced to move back into Fukushima area 'decontaminated' towns, or lose their cash stipends. Once everyone either moves back or loses the government cash payout, when will the payouts stop completely, for everyone?

Fukushima province has 2 million people living in it. Yumi talks about how the government decided NOT to evacuate due to the impossible situation of trying to move and relocate 2 million residents. This decision is driving everything else after that, so now the official government position is that these areas are ok to live in and people can move back in.
SACRIFICED WORKERS AND RESIDENTS FORCED TO LIVE, EAT AND WORK IN RADIATION CONTAMINATED AREAS
At 19: in, she talks about how the former maximum allowed yearly radiation levels for residents in Japan before the Fukushima mega nuclear disaster was;
Residents 1 m/Sv per year
Before 3/11, nuclear workers allowed max of 50 m/Sv per year
After Fukushima workers max raised to 250 m/Sv per year
Then Fukushima workers max was raised again 500 m/Sv per year
At 20: in
Children before 3/11 allowed max of 1 m/Sv per year
Children in decontaminated areas now allowed 20 m/Sv per year
She says this 20 m/Sv amount for children is 'deadly' (because children are much more sensitive to the same radiation dose, when compared to adults)

JAPANESE PEOPLE ENCOURAGED BY GOVERNMENT TO EAT LOCAL FUKUSHIMA AREA RAISED FOOD, MILK AND FISH
People in supposedly decontaminated areas are 'recommended' to eat only local foods grown on farms in Fukushima. This official government and mass media position is official, in order to support the local farmers, fishermen and merchants who sell these items.
22: Another policy decision made early on with the approval of the IAEA and nuclear experts, was to 'burn' all radiation contaminated waste from Fukushima areas, by trucking it all over Japan to incinerators. This spreads radiation all over Japan, and it gets into everyone, especially the children.
24: Two huge plutonium facility projects cost Japan 2 Trillion Yen each, for a total of 4 Trillion Yen so far. These are the biggest Japanese government projects existing in Japan, and they both focus on creating plutonium from the nuclear waste left over from the 50 plus Japanese nuclear power plants. Both of these huge projects are boondoggles and failed completely. Rokashu is one of the most highly radiation contaminated areas on the planet. Japan already has 45 tons of plutonium stored, and the primary use for this is to make nuclear bombs, (despite Japan being a pacifist nation per it's Constitution, largely because it was on the receiving end of two nuclear bombs dropped on 2 cities).

JAPAN HAS 45 TONS OF PLUTONIUM STOCKPILED; WHY?
25: For the Hiroshima bomb, it only took 8 to 10 kilograms of plutonium. So how many nuclear bombs can this 45 tons of plutonium make? Japanese people are against any nuclear bombs, but they have been convinced to use 'peaceful' uses of nuclear power, because it is 'good' for you. But now people are realizing that even the peaceful use of nuclear energy is bad for you. The best way to move forward is to shut them all down and switch to a zero nuclear future.
26: Between the US and Japan, there are 160 nuclear plants. That is a LOT of nuclear power plants. So turning them all off and going for a sustainable, zero nuclear, zero carbon future offers future generations a lot of hope and a good future. Japan is no longer safe to live in, unless it turns off all nuclear completely, then I will move back.

EVACUATING CHILDREN, PREGNANT WOMEN AND INFANTS OUT OF HARMS WAY, RUNS INTO OPPOSITION BY GOVERNMENT AND NUCLEAR INDUSTRY
30: We evacuated out of Fukushima on March 13th, down to Okinawa, and we wanted to go further than Tokyo, because we knew it was not far enough, and that radiation would reach it very quickly from Fukushima (which it did). She worked on organizing to get pregnant women, infants and young children out of Fukushima to 'safe' areas such as Okinawa, where she had lots of friends, along with a team of other people she knew. She formed a group and held a press conference on March 17th, to tell the public about this, and is still offering this service to anyone who wants it, even today.
31: I am really afraid now of contamination in food, 8 months in. What happened after we started is that we were attacked and the media told people to not trust us, because we were not based on scientific evidence and had no nuclear experts agreeing with the need to evacuate. The official government position was that there was no need to evacuate at all, as long as you stay inside home.
32: The official government announcements (even to this day) tell people to eat local Fukushima grown food, despite the Fukushima plant melt downs. Local food is good, but not in radiation contaminated areas. Eating local Fukushima food is deadly. I was talking about that, and was attacked for that position as well. Eating Fukushima food will cause damage later on, and yes fishermen and farmers will lose their work, but I was fighting my own government and people to save lives.
33: After Chernobyl, many people were evacuated within days, (and large exclusion zones were set up), but after Fukushima almost nothing was done, and only a small evacuation zone was established and people were left in radiation contaminated areas. People were told that Fukushima originated man made radiation is good for your health and this area is 'safe' to live in. Many people believe this (lie) because they want to stay there. I do too, if I did not know these things based on my own study, if I was told it was safe. I already know too much.

34: In 2006, I had Dr. Sternglass come over to Japan, and we translated all of his studies and we knew what radiation did to you. We worked really hard to stop Rokoshu plant, the biggest radiation contamination on Earth. No one paid attention. It did not change anything. We have learned not to stay close to a nuclear plant that is leaking.

35: After launching Connecting Light, we came to Hawaii for two weeks. We ended up going back to Japan, but left the children in Hawaii with friends. My goal is make Hawaii more sustainable. My near death experience on 3/11 woke me up, to realize that you can die anytime. Anything can happen; an earthquake, a car accident, or disease.
36: It made me realize; I want to live my dream, and my husband agreed. I finished my work commitments in Japan, and then move to Hawaii with only 4 boxes. We bought a home with a lawn, and now it is being converted into a large garden, and people are really shocked and amazed, because it is in a residential area. I am harvesting vegetables and fruits already from this garden. In Japan, we had rice, mushrooms, vegetables and more, a highly self sufficient lifestyle.
37: with 1/3 acre, my goal is to create a self sufficient garden here too, because in a tropical area like this it is possible to grow fruits and vegetables all year.
WORKING ON GOAL OF SELF SUFFICIENCY
44: Our goal is to be self sufficient in food and energy, by creating our own energy from the sun. In our community the goal is to have community gardens, exchange food, seeds and more.
45; The kids are eating much more sea vegetables for the iodine, to counter the radiation spikes that are happening here in Hawaii. There is radiation in the milk. The whole world is already radiation contaminated. What we can do is to eat healthy and strengthen our immune systems. Do what you love, so that your passion in harnessed. If you are living your passion, you have much more lifeforce. I really feel passionate about my work, and I eat from my own garden. This food I grow may have radiation in it, I don't know, but this green fresh food is also good for fighting the radiation effects. Foods with color in them give you so many phytochemicals.
48: Hawaii has higher radiation than Japan. Kona has 30 - 40 CPM, and Tokyo has only 18CPM. Radiationnetwork.com . What is the point of us being here? I have become a raw foodist, and eat so many bananas, and want a tropical area to grow my own fresh raw foods. I won't buying anything from the supermarket, just local farmers or my own garden.
49: Hawaii imports 85% of it's food from other nations. 90% of it's energy is imported oil. If we become self sufficient, that solves these problems, right?

SUMMARY
There is no solution for decontaminating lands or waters that have been radiation contaminated. Hopefully, humanity will learn the hard lessons that come from ignoring invisible radioactive poisons and shut down all nuclear plants in time, before the Carrington Event happens. If that happens and all plants are not shut down, it will be the end of all life on Earth.

The lessons right now are hard, and they will get harder from here on in, if people do not pay attention and start making massive, fast changes in all areas of life; energy, food, health, as Yumi is doing and being an example of. Transporting food 5,000 miles and burning 1,000 to 10,000 calories of oil products to get 1 calorie of food will have increasingly severe consequences. Burning nuclear fuel to generate steam is insane, when the sun can do the same thing for free, with no nuclear waste, no nuclear accidents and it is free forever.
