Life is all about being born, growing up, maturing into wisdom and then passing it on to the next generation. In terms of religions, that same process happens. A person is 'born' into a religion, grows up and then becomes mature inside of that religion, usually without ever leaving it. This growth and maturation process is universal in all religions and belief systems.

There are at least four ways to interpret any Holy book, such as the Bible, Vedas, or Koran, just to name a few of the many Holy books that exist out in the world. Within any religion, a person must be born into it as a baby, then become a child, and finally become mature, spiritually speaking. There is a universal aspect of how an individual sees the Holy book that they have chosen as their vehicle for spiritual growth, which is outlined below in the form of interpretations.

Historical

The Holy book is seen as an interesting and unique historical set of writings, written by someone long ago. There is no emotional connection and the meaning of the book is purely mental. There is no personal belief in the Holy book, or in any of the characters or subjects portrayed. The Holy book is just another book, like millions of others, and it is nothing special. Things that are out of the bounds of 'normal' are not believed and are seen as 'fairy tales'. Anything that involves miracles or healing are also not believed, because they are outside the bounds of provable science. One may go to a particular church based on invitation or just because it is there.

The rules of science and mental logic are applied to the book, and the person reading it more than likely does not believe in God, or may believe in God, but not know much about this subject other than a faint awareness. The person may at best be 'open' and/or curious about the possibility that something mysterious may exist. There may be an awareness that some things may not be entirely explainable.

God as a mysterious concept may exist in the mind, but only as a concept, and God is something or someone very, very far away and very strange or foreign. Inside of this interpretation, any Holy book is not divinely inspired writing; it is just another interesting fiction novel, with some very interesting stories.

At this level, anyone who believes in God and/or a Holy Book, much less things like angels or miracles, can be made fun of, demeaned or attacked as being misled, fooled, or being a charlatan. The focus is very black and white. The dominant emotions and thoughts are often centered around fear and anger, with solutions for problems are often focused on violence, threats and intimidation. A very basic sense of love may be present, or love may not be felt at all, and may not even be understood, except in the sense of feelings associated with sex.

On the positive side, this level of interpretation of the Holy Books and the world involves a basic exploration, via physical movement, talking and learning on a purely physical and mental level of curiosity.

Literal/Emotional

The Holy book is seen as being true, word for word, literally. If it talks about the oceans being parted and mountains being moved, or someone riding into Heaven on a chariot pulled by flaming horses, then that is what happened. There is a passionately held belief that every word of the Holy book is absolutely true, with on exceptions.

This interpretation is often associated with getting very emotional amount the Holy Book that one believes in. Anyone who does not agree with this interpretation, is seen as the enemy. At this interpretation level, one Holy book is seen as having all of the truth in the world, and it is only for a special chosen few.

In this interpretation, the most fundamental and black and white way of interpreting anything being read in the Holy book is applied. For example, if the Holy book is the Bible or the Koran, the focus is mostly on the laws, punishment and a very black and white view of the world.  This interpretation also involves a lot of destruction, death and focus on Armageddon.

In this interpretation, only a few are 'saved' and the rest of the world is going to eternal punishment with a very vengeful God. In the most extreme form of this fundamental interpretation, people must be converted to that particular belief system at all costs, or be killed if they choose not to convert. A holy crusade is often required, in order to convert the whole world to this particular chosen Holy book and to this interpretation specifically. No other interpretations are allowed, and certainly all other Holy books are worthless and even evil.

In the Bible, the Old Testament section is the only focused on for the most part, because it is all about rigid and absolute laws, the punishment of offenders, and a very black and white view of the world. God, who is in Heaven, is waiting on everyone after death, as a judge, who will either send us to Heaven or Hell. Of course, only the chosen few in that church will go to Heaven and everyone else is going to Hell, forever.

Any small transgression of any of the laws, dogmas or interpretations as seen by a priest calls for punishment of the offender, being thrown out of the church, being labeled as a heretic, and historically, death as a punishment.  This interpretation means that any transgressor who is not obeying the church dogma, is going to to be punished in Hell forever.

The focus on religiously inspired emotions is projected out into the world, along with enforcement of the laws and dogmas. Everyone must believe and follow the dogmas and laws, or suffer punishment legally, physically, emotionally and spiritually, as in going to Hell forever.

Transfigurative

In this interpretation, the Holy book is seen as a living, breathing Word, through the eyes of a Spirit filled person. The Spirit moves and has it's home in the person reading the Holy book, and the Holy book comes alive in a special way. There is much less of a focus on the black and white interpretation and fundamentalist ways of looking at the Holy book, but some less intense aspects of this may exist. The emotional centered focus on life and on any chosen Holy book, is transformed into a spirit centered focus.

For example, if one applies this interpretation to the Bible, the focus is now mostly on the New Testament, on divine agape love, inclusiveness and forgiveness, rather than on punishment, exclusion and the Old Testament. There is a more of an interfaith focus on what is true in any religion, and much less or no more focus on other people and religions being evil, lost or deserving of punishment. There is much less focus on punishment, death and destruction via Armageddon.

There is much more openness and exploration of other religions, ways of thinking, ways of acting, ways of believing, and ways of operating in the world via alternatives to the 'norm', whatever that is.

This level of interpretation enters into and expands the mysterious realm of inner universal and connecting wisdom, rather than on individual intelligence, as measured by an IQ test. For more information about this, click on the following link...

Metaphysical

The Holy book of choice is seen through the lens of personal spiritual unfolding and growth process that is unique to that person. The metaphysical interpretation is universal and complementary (not divisive) in application to anyone else.

The infinite spiritual growth process is complementary to anyone else in the world, in any other religion or in 'competing' branches of the same religion, whether that is Chritianity, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhism, Shintoism, etc. There is a focus on personal spiritual growth and a sharing of universal love of all humankind, no matter what the religion or belief system.

A metaphysical meaning to a certain passage of a Holy book is applied in terms of how it applies to an inner, positive, spiritual unfolding and growth process, within the person reading it, which never ends. For example, in the Bible, Christ is felt and experienced as the Christ Consciousness that is living and existing and growing within that person, not just as someone outside who is far away and will return someday. Instead of God, Spirit and Christ being separate and far away, they are all contained inside of a person, and can be experienced, felt and known in a very deep and profoundly spiritual way. (This aspect does not deny the reality of any particular Holy book or it's spiritual leader historically, but rather adds a very unique and universal powerful meaning.)

Heaven is also experienced and felt within, rather than being something a person has to wait for to experience after death. Death is no longer feared, because Heaven is already here and now, inside of the person reading the Holy book.

Armageddon is interpreted as the battle between the dark and light forces, emotions and thoughts within that person. Christ returning is interpreted as being that spiritually mature place where Christ consciousness reigns forever ever, inside of that person, without taking away, judging or denying any of the other interpretations.

Again the interpretation is not just a mental exercise, but a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual inner experience, which cannot be denied, taken away or explained away by anyone else. If a person has an inner spiritual experience even once, no matter what that experience is, that creates a truth which is different from a mental interpretation in a way that is like night and day in terms of its effect and power.

There is a focus on what is true and being felt and experienced INSIDE the heart and spirit of the person reading whatever Holy book is being read, rather than any outer dogma or belief system applied by a priest or church in a top down hierarchical and patriarchal power structure.

There is no dogma, but rather a focus on what is specifically true in terms of experience and interpretation for that person who is reading that particular Holy book in that instant, in that time and place. Reading that same passage at another time and place will create another and different interpretation, and there is no end to this process of constant unfoldment and spiritual evolution into higher and higher states of awareness and consciousness.

If a group of people all get together and read the SAME passage in ANY Holy book, and apply a metaphysical meaning to it, and then share their interpretation, the result will be close to miraculous. Each person will have a different interpretation of that same passage, unique to them in that present moment, which they get, direct from the Source. Literally, every person who does this is part of a sacred circle. To learn about what a sacred circle is, click on the following link....

The Great Sacred Circle Story

As each person reads their interpretation and meaning to the group, it creates more value and insight for each person present. Rather than being divisive, the metaphysical interpretations add a sense of spiritual depth, meaning, uniqueness and inclusiveness, all at the same time, in a very powerful and mysterious manner.

The focus is on how each person is equal to everyone else, and each person brings value and a unique perspective that only adds to what every other person brings.

What is unique about this stage of spiritual growth, is that ANY Holy book, dreams, movies, life experiences can be focused on and metaphysically interpreted via the internal spiritual unfolding process, so there is no more divisiveness or black and white thinking or belief system.

This point of spiritual growth also involves giving back, because at this point, a person can see what is important in life, and the focus changes to giving instead of taking.

METAPHYSICAL DREAM INTERPRETATION

The video above is a brief example of how dreams can be interpreted on a metaphysical level. Dreams are a connection point to parts of ourselves that are very powerful and deep. Accessing the meaning of dreams on a metaphysical level can help accelerate a persons spiritual growth. There is no limit about what can be interpreted on a metaphysical level, once a person learns how to do it for themselves.

SUMMARY

The metaphysical level pulls together all spiritual paths and all religions together.  The metaphysical interpretation of anything illuminates personal, inner experience that are available to anyone at any time. The metaphysical level  proves that all people are equal. We are all spiritual brothers and sisters, with one source, and one destination, no matter what religion or belief system we choose to follow.
