Russian FM warns against any military strike on Iran

Prophecy Sign: The Gog/Magog war - Russiawill lead

It should not surprise anyone that studies bible prophecy to see the close relationship that seems to be growing between Iranand Russia, and that the Russians arevery much against any attacks on Iran’s nuclear installations. We are told in the book of Ezekiel that Russiawill one day be the leader of an alliance of nations that will come against Israelin what is known as the Gog/Magog war.

Prophecy indicates that a leader from the northern most parts, (from the land of Magog, Meshek and Tubal), will head up this alliance. Most bible historians have determined that these three named locations are areas within the boundaries of present day Russia.

Russiacoming to the aid of her Arab allies is not without precedence in Middle-East wars, as the old Soviet Union threaten involvement in the 1973 Yom Kippur Warin aid of the Egyptians.

Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: In that day, when my people Israelare living in safety, will you not take notice of it? You will come from your place in the far north, you and many nations with you, all of them riding on horses, a great horde, a mighty army. Ezekiel 38:14-15 NIV

From the article:
Russia's foreign minister warned on Monday that any military strike against Iran would be a grave mistake with unpredictable consequences. Russia, the closest thing Iran has to a big power ally, is deeply opposed to any military action against the Islamic Republic, though Moscow has supported United Nations Security Council sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program.  "This would be a very serious mistake fraught with unpredictable consequences," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said when asked about reports that Israel planned a military strike against Iran.

Russia’s foreign minister Sergei Lavov has warned that a military strike on Iran would be a “very serious mistake” with “unpredictable consequences”, after Israel’s president Shimon Peres said that an attack was increasingly likely. In comments published in the Israeli daily Hayom, Mr Peres said that “the possibility of a military attack against Iran is now closer to being applied than the application of a diplomatic option”. "We must stay calm and resist pressure so that we can consider every alternative," he added. The drumbeat of war is expected to grow louder this week when United Nations nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, issues its most detailed report to date on nuclear research in Iran.
