Turkey: Israel's raid on Gaza flotilla was 'cause for war'

Prophecy Sign:  The emergence of Turkey as a major player in the Gog/Magog alliance of nations that will come against Israel.

Turkey has moved so quickly from being an ally and friend of Israel to what is now a very cool and distant relationship. With perhaps even the threat of a military dust-up between the two former friends. We should not at all be surprised at these turn of events as bible prophecy warned that Turkey would one day involve itself in a war against Israel. This war known as the Gog.Magog war of Ezekiel chapters 38 & 39.

In the book of Ezekiel, Turkey as it is known today, is refered to as Beth Togarmah, (and perhaps Gomer). These ancients people groups settled in the area that we call Turkey.
From the articles:
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan saw "cause for war" with Israel last year after a deadly raid on a Turkish ship headed for Gaza, according to a transcript of a recent interview. State news agency Anatolia released late on Sunday what it said was an original Turkish-language transcript of an interview Erdogan gave to Al Jazeera television last week. It included elements not broadcast as well as original wording for sensitive comments that had been transmitted only in Arabic translation. Among previously unpublished elements, Erdogan said Israel's deadly raid last year on the Gaza-bound flotilla would have justified going to war.

A top Israeli minister on Friday described as "grave and serious" a threat by Ankara to send warships to escort any aid vessels trying to reach the Gaza Strip in defiance of Israel's naval blockade. Israel and Turkey have been locked in a bitter dispute since May 2010 when Israeli naval forces stormed the Freedom Flotilla, a convoy of six international aid ships trying to reach Gaza, killing nine Turkish nationals. The crisis deepened over the past week, with Turkey expelling the Israeli ambassador and axing military ties and defence trade. On Thursday night, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed that Turkish warships would escort any aid ships trying to reach the Palestinian enclave.

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan this week coolly moved his country step by provocative step towards an armed clash with Israel – not just over the Palestinian issue, but because he covets the gas and oil resources of the eastern Mediterranean opposite Israel's shores. Thursday night, Sept. 8, he announced that Turkish warships will escort any Turkish aid vessels for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. In his remarks to Al Jazeera television, the Turkish prime minister also said he had taken steps "to stop Israel from unilaterally exploiting natural resources from the eastern Mediterranean."
He did not say what steps he had taken. However, for some time now, he has moved mountains to isolate Israel by drawing a double diplomatic noose around it. If Turkish ships breach the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza, which a UN report last week pronounced legitimate under international law, Erdogan will become the first Muslim leader to embark on military action in the Palestinian cause.
