Prophecy Sign: The Daniel 9:27 covenant with Israel

An interesting pair of articles which indicate the 4 horns, (make that the Quartet), are looking to re-engage the peace talks between the Palestinians and Israel, which a final deal to be reached in one year.

We are told in the book of Zechariah of a group called the 4 horns that scatter the Jewish people. This passage is usually interpreted to mean the former kingdoms that existed generations ago that conquered Israeland Judah over the centuries and ultimately scattered the Jewish people. But it is coincidental that we now have another 4 horns, (political powers), that are once again working to carve up the land of Israel. This will ultimately lead to a remnant of Jewish people being forced to flee Israelto escape the wrath of the coming Antichrist.

We are also told in the book of Daniel that the future Antichrist will broker a deal between Israeland presumably the rest of the world for a time of peace. This agreement to last 7 years, which will be broken by the Antichrist half-way through. Interesting to see that the French President is pushing to have some sort of agreement put in place now that would ultimately become a peace agreement after 1 year. Make that 7 years and you got yourself a deal.

He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. Daniel 9:27NIV

Then I looked up, and there before me were four horns. I asked the angel who was speaking to me, “What are these?” He answered me, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.”  Zechariah 1:18-19 NIV

French President Nicolas Sarkozy recommended that Palestinian state recognition at the United Nations be viewed as an intermediate step on the path to an eventual peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians. The French president suggested that negotiations would have to begin within six months following the UN resolution, which would define the borders of Israeland Palestine. Then, a final deal would have to be reached within a year.

While there are a number of ideas in play, senior U.S., European, Israeli and Palestinian officials have told CNN they center around Abbas delivering a letter to the Security Council seeking full Palestinian statehood, but not forcing a council vote. The Security Council letter would be paired with a statement by the Mideast Quartet laying out the terms of reference to relaunch peace talks between the Israelis and Palestinians, the officials said. The quartet is made up of the United Nations, the European Union, the United States and Russia.
