Bible prophecy informs us that many people will unfortunately perish during the dark days of the coming Tribulation period. The first 4 seals of Revelation 6 indicate that in quick succession, wars will break out leading to food shortages and famines, with disease and pestilence finishing off many millions of people.
This news article, while short, is quite disconcerting. One particular part of the article notes that there has been a complete collapse in the development of new antibiotics in the last decade. Consider how this may effect future populations that would be under great distress because of famines, plagues and disease. There may be little or no means of protecting these populations from the effects of the diseases due to a serious lack of new antibiotics.
