Sudan's South Living Biblical Prophesy?

Bible prophecy fulfillment in the end-times isn't just about the rise of the Kings of the East, or the revived Roman Empire, it is also the fulfillment of the destinies of different people groups that live today.  For instance, the recent events in Egypt seem to be fulfilling the prophecy contained in Isaiah 19, which foretells a time whey Egyptian will rise against Egyptian.

Here we have another Isaiah prophecy, this time concerning the land of Cush.  Most historians consider the Land of Cush to be parts of Sudan and Ethiopia.  The Prophet Ezekiel was told that Cush would be one of the invaders that would take part in the Gog/Magog war and attempt to take plunder from Israel, (Ezekiel 38).

Woe to the land of whirring wings along the rivers of Cush, which sends envoys by sea in papyrus boats over the water. Go, swift messengers, to a people tall and smooth-skinned, to a people feared far and wide, an aggressive nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers. Isaiah 18:1-2 NIV

In the Isaiah 18 prophecy, it would seem the word of God is telling us that the peoples of the Land of Cush would be pruned, with one group destined for ruin, while the other group would thrive and would bring their gifts to Zion.

For, before the harvest, when the blossom is gone and the flower becomes a ripening grape, he will cut off the shoots with pruning knives, and cut down and take away the spreading branches. They will all be left to the mountain birds of prey and to the wild animals; the birds will feed on them all summer, the wild animals all winter.  Isaiah 18:5-6 NIV

Isn't it interesting that Sudan, with its recent referendum on splitting the nation will now be divided in two nations;  North Sudan which will be almost entirely Muslim, and undoubtedly anti-Israel, while South Sudan will be predominately Christian.  Could it be that God has a plan for the over-comers in South Sudan, and will bless them as a new nation?  The people of South Sudan seem to think so.

At that time gifts will be brought to the LORD Almighty from a people tall and smooth-skinned, from a people feared far and wide, an aggressive nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers— the gifts will be brought to Mount Zion, the place of the Name of the LORD Almighty. Isaiah 18:7 NIV

From the article:
Christians in southern Sudan believe recent events in their country are part of God's plan for their nation. Sudan sits just below Egypt. The north is ruled by Islamic dictator Omar al-Bashir, but the south is dominated by Christians, who believe biblical prophecy is coming true right before their eyes.
