Turns out this most recent solar flair whizzed past earth without doing much in the way of damage. However scientists have warned that we can expected more of these flares during the next couple of years, (well into 2012 and into 2013). They have also warned that if one of these flares hit earth at just the right spot, it will cause much damage to our communication systems and electrical grids.
