U.S. Jewish Leader Henry Siegman, former head of the American Jewish Congress and the Synogogue Council Of America. He was born in Germany in 1930, he fled the Nazis as they came to power and arrived in the US in 1942. His father was a leader in European Zionism, who pushed for the creation of the Jewish State. Henry is an ordained Jewish Rabbi, and now serves as the head of the US Middle East Project. 

Democracy now talks with Henry Siegman about what is going on in the Middle East as he lays out the roots of the ongoing crisis, what is causing it, and the solutions that are possible at this point. He also points at how the US is a very big player in the conflict, and not in a good way.

It was the sixth time a U.N. shelter had been bombed since the Israeli offensive in Gaza began 24 days ago. (2014) The United Nations said it had given the coordinates of the shelter to the Israeli military 17 times prior to the attack. Bottom line, the US is the biggest road block to peace in the Middle East. Instead of creating an environment that creates peace, the US props up the 'specialness' Zionism of Israel. The US is condoning and supporting all kinds of illegal, immoral, unethical actions being taken by the Jewish Zionist state. The chances of meaningful peace grow dimmer each year that the US supports Israeal unconditionally, while arming it to the teeth, vetoing all UN resolutions against it, and giving active support to Apartheid inside the state of Israel.
