We live in unprecedented times. Perilous times even, How else would you describe the possibility of radical Islamic elements within Pakistantaking control of some if not all Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal? And you though Iranand its nuclear aspirations where frightening enough.

At the same time we have the Chinese President ramping up the military combat rhetoric with regards to Americaand whoever else gets in China's way.

Bible prophecy tells us that there would be wars and rumors of wars in the last days prior to the return of Jesus Christ, (Matthew 24:6). Bible prophecy also warns that many of these rumored wars would in fact become actual conflicts with many, many people being killed.

In the book of Revelation we are told that fully one half of the population of the earth at the time of the Tribulation will be killed by wars, famine and disease. Can you image some 3.5 billion people killed in just a matter of a few years?; (based on earth's present population).

Pakistani nuclear weapons are in danger of being seized by militant elements who are likely to have insinuated themselves into the nation's armed forces, Agence France-Presse quoted U.S. Republican presidential candidate New Gingrich as saying on Wednesday (see GSN, Nov. 23). "My guess is that they have well over 100 nuclear weapons and that the Pakistani military is so penetrated by extremist elements you have no idea if one morning they are going to lose three or four of them," the former speaker of the House of Representatives said in an interview with CNN.

Following the assassination of the Pakistani president in a scenario that begins in 2013, Pakistanbegins to descend into chaos. It is a time of great uncertainty, in which Pakistan’s “Islamist Army faction and its militant Muslim allies” decide to act. Their plan, according to the war game: “to exploit that country’s growing civil disorder to seize power and create a radical Islamist state.” Compounding this chaos is the confusion over who will gain control of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons arsenal, estimated to number 80 to 120. These weapons are believed to be located at a half-dozen or so sites around the country.

Chinese President Hu Jintao on Tuesday urged the navy to prepare for military combat, amid growing regional tensions over maritime disputes and a UScampaign to assert itself as a Pacific power. The navy should "accelerate its transformation and modernisation in a sturdy way, and make extended preparations for military combat in order to make greater contributions to safeguard national security," he said. Addressing the powerful Central Military Commission, Hu said: "Our work must closely encircle the main theme of national defence and military building."
