Prophecy Sign: The destruction of Iran's nuclear capabilities


Does the bible actually have a prophecy that says Iran's nuclear capabilities will be destroyed? Well according to well known prophecy expert, Bill Salus, the answer would be yes.

There is a prophecy in the book of Jeremiah which speaks of a group of people living in a place called Elam. The land these peoples settled in during Jeremiah's time was along the coast of present day Iranwhere the city of Bushehr is located. Why is that important? Because Jeremiah prophesied that the military might of Elamwould be destroyed and the peoples of the region would be scattered all over the world.

Just so happens that the present day city of Bushehris the home of the nuclear plant that the Russians just recently helped power up. The very same plant that is the heart of the Iranian nuclear enrichment program. According to Bill Salus, the prophet Jeremiah was told by God that in the last days, this area would be devastated by a military strike, rendering the area uninhabitable as the people are scattered to places unaffected by nuclear fallout.

This is the word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, early in the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah: This is what the LORD Almighty says: “See, I will break the bow of Elam, the mainstay of their might. I will bring against Elamthe four winds from the four quarters of heaven; I will scatter them to the four winds, and there will not be a nation where Elam’s exiles do not go. I will shatter Elambefore their foes, before those who want to kill them; I will bring disaster on them, even my fierce anger,” declares the LORD. “I will pursue them with the sword until I have made an end of them.  I will set my throne in Elamand destroy her king and officials,” declares the LORD. “Yet I will restore the fortunes of Elamin days to come,” declares the LORD. Indeed, many believe that Iran’s behaviour is so outrageous, and its nuclear capability now so dangerous, that a military strike is the only option left to the international community to bring the renegade nation into line. Israel is already considering such action against Iran’s three main nuclear facilities, which are hundreds of miles apart: a Russian-built-and-staffed light water facility at Bushehr; a major underground uranium plant at Natanz; and two water facilities at Arak to convert uranium dioxide into weapons-grade plutonium.

 The Iranians have threatened dire consequences if such an attack took place, including firing long-range ballistic missiles, thought to be more accurate than the Scud missiles Saddam Hussein launched against Israel during the first Gulf War. Former Military Intelligence chief Maj.-Gen. (res.) Amos Yadlin said Tuesday that Iran had enough material to develop "four or five" nuclear bombs, adding that it was imperative for Israel to maintain good relations with members of the international community capable of dealing with that threat. "Once Iran decides finally to move forward in developing a nuclear weapon, a whole new range of opportunities will open up for a fight which the international community will fight," Yadlin said in an address at the Institute for National Security Studies, where he is beginning a term as director. "Israel is not alone in the game," Yadlin said. "When the Iranians publicly reveal that they are pushing toward a nuclear weapon, Israel will no longer be the central player in the game."
