Iran Defense Minister: Israeli strike would be a suicide mission

Prophecy Sign:  The coming middle-east wars

Iran under its current leadership is a very dangerous and unpredictable player in the epi-centre, (as Joel Rosenberg like to call the Middle-East).  Just what would happen if Israel made an expected strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities, or if the world ratcheted up further sanctions on the rogue state, are anybodies guess.  We do know that under the leadership of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the various Mullahs, these people believe it to be their destiny and that of Iran’s, to bring about chaos in the world in hopes of bringing their messianic figure, (the 12th Imam), into the world.

So a full-scale middle-east war with Israel, or a global economic crisis due to oil shipments curtailed would be right up the alley of this bunch.  This is what the leadership of the Western World simply doesn't seem to understand.

We believe the first shot in this coming series of battles will be by Israel’s necessary bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities, (they simply can’t allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon).   We have noted recently that such an event may become the partial fulfillment of Jeremiah 49 which speaks of an ancient nation called Elam, (exact location of the present day Bushehr nuclear reactor), and the catastrophes that would befell Elam in the last days.  Such a bombing run could then lead to the Psalm 83/Isaiah 17 scenario, followed sometime thereafter by the Gog/Magog invasion of Ezekiel 38/39.

Could 2012 be the beginnings of sorrows for this region?  Stayed tuned.

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. Mark 13:8 KJV

From the articles:
Iran's defense minister said Sunday that any Israeli strike on Iran would constitute suicide, the official news agency IRNA reported. “The Zionist regime is completely isolated and under no circumstances it can attack Iran unless she wants to commit a suicide," IRNA quoted Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi as saying. "It is due to the fact that it will receive deadly strikes from Iran which will make it unstable."

Iran's first vice-president warned on Tuesday that the flow of crude will be stopped from the crucial Strait of Hormuz in the Gulf if foreign sanctions are imposed on its oil exports, the country's official news agency reported. "If they (the West) impose sanctions on Iran's oil exports, then even one drop of oil cannot flow from the Strait of Hormuz," IRNA quoted Mohammad Reza Rahimi as saying. About a third of all sea-borne oil was shipped through the Strait in 2009, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), and U.S. warships patrol the area to ensure safe passage. Tensions over Iran's nuclear programme have increased since the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported on Nov. 8 that Tehran appears to have worked on designing a nuclear bomb and may still be pursuing research to that end. Iran strongly denies this and says it is developing nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
