Prophecy Sign:  Increased knowledge and the coming Mark of the Beast

Synthetic biology?  Tweaking the genetics of life? Synthetic viruses, bacteria, (or a future "mark"), that could control the human mind? Knowledge is growing by leaps and bounds, by exponential rates, and this knowledge will soon bring about the coming Mark of the Beast.

There is a bible prophecy expert by the name of L.A. Marzulli who firmly believes the coming Mark of the Beast will be something quite radical.  Something that in fact will change a persons DNA, rendering the person something outside the creation of God.  Hence the dire warnings in the book of Revelation for all mankind not to take the mark.

Satan desires his own, and will use this coming "Mark of the Beast" system to mark his own, (likely with a DNA changing strand).  This will render each person that takes the mark, no longer a creation of God but some form of hybrid, (like the Nephalim of the pre-flood days).  The tools are now coming into place to make science fiction into science fact.

A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.  And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” Revelation 14:9-11 NIV

From the article:
The field of 'synthetic biology' is in its infancy. We can 'tweak' the genetics of life forms - but billionaire entrepreneur Craig Venter only created 'artificial life' for the first time last year, christening his life form 'Synthia'. But experts working within the field believe that our expertise is out-accelerating natural evolution by a factor of millions of years - and some warn that synthetic biology could spin out of control. It could lead, says Andrew Hessel of Singularity University, on Nasa's research campus, to a world where hackers could engineer viruses or bacteria to control human minds. Hessel believes that genetic engineering is the next frontier of computing. 'This is one of the most powerful technologies in the world,' says Hessel 'Synthetic biology - the writing of life.'
