Prophecy Sign: Wars and Rumors of Wars - the coming Middle-East wars

Can a major middle-east war be far away? Judging by the following articles and video, the answer is a resounding NO.

War is not something we wish for, and in fact we are told to pray for peace, especially for the peace of Jerusalemand the Middle-East. However, bible prophecy will be fulfilled which means the world will enter into a time when there will be war after war, when kingdom will rise against kingdom.

The book of Daniel describes a series of battles involving the Kings of the North and South coming against the armies of the Antichrist in the holy land, (Daniel 11). The book of Psalms describes a time when the enemies of Israelwho sit on her borders will conspire together to wipe out the Jewish state, (Psalm 83). The book of Ezekiel describes a time when Russiaand her Muslim allies will come against Israelin an attempt to invade, conquer and take spoil, (Ezekiel 38/39). And finally the book of Revelation describes the battle to end all battles as the armies of Satan and the Antichrist will attempt to make war with Jesus Christ and his heavenly armies, (Revelation 19).

Is it any wonder that Jesus warns that if he did cut time short and make a return at the end of the Tribulation, that there would be no life to return for?

Then there will be great distress, unequalled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equalled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. Matthew 24:21:22 NIV

From the articles:
Will Israel attack Iran's nuclear facilities? That's the question some are asking in light of recent statements by Israeli leaders. Israeli intelligence believes Iran is continuing its pursuit of nuclear weapons and Israeli leaders are talking more about what they need to do about it. To some analysts, the rhetoric from Israeli officials including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicates Israel could be laying the rationale for a possible pre-emptive military strike against Iran's nuclear program.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to rally support in his cabinet for an attack on Iran, according to government sources. The country's defence minister Ehud Barak and the foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman are said to be among those backing a pre-emptive strike to neutralize Iran's nuclear ambitions. But a narrow majority of ministers currently oppose the move, which could trigger a wave of regional retaliation. The debate over possible Israeli military action has reached fever pitch in recent days with newspaper leader columns discussing the benefits and dangers of hitting Iran. Mr Lieberman responded to the reports of a push to gain cabinet approval by saying that "Iran poses the most dangerous threat to world order."

Britain's armed forces are stepping up their contingency planning for potential military action against Iran amid mounting concern about Tehran's nuclear enrichment program, the Guardian has learned. The Ministry of Defence believes the US may decide to fast-forward plans for targeted missile strikes at some key Iranian facilities. British officials say that if Washington presses ahead it will seek, and receive, UK military help for any mission, despite some deep reservations within the coalition government.

The UK and U.S. are drawing up plans to attack Iran amid growing tensions in the Middle East, it was claimed last night. Barack Obama and David Cameron are preparing for war after reports that Iran now has enough enriched uranium for four nuclear weapons. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s hardline regime in Tehran has been linked to three assassination plots on foreign soil, according to senior officials in Whitehall. Iran has come sharply back into focus following the end of the Libya conflict. And the unrest has been inflamed by sabre-rattling from top politicians in Israel. President Obama said Iran's nuclear program continues to pose a threat and that he and French president Nicolas Sarkozy want the international community to maintain pressure on the country to admit its intentions.
